I prefer:

http://www.silvermans.co.uk/ProductDetails/tabid/89/Department/Military/Category/FOOTWEAR+ACCESSORIES/Description/ARMY+ISSUE+CUSHION+SOLE+SOCKS/ItemId/11956/CurrentPage/0/Default.aspx

£4 a pair if you buy more than 3 pairs.  So warm you won't know it's cold underfoot.

Try the ones from wickes ,  they are called heat holders , £4.99 a pair , totally great , i suffer real bad with cold feet , even after being in few a few hours and a shower/bath iget into bed and they are like ice , not any more with these, they actually have a tog rating like a quilt 2.46 i think , normal cotton socks are about 0.6 and boy are they comfy , 2 more pairs to get in the morning me thinks !

Try em you'll love em !
Dare i say BOOTIFUL  , sorry Bernard , loved your turkey ham mate , RIP
