Title: what an experience
Post by: jakeandmia on December 16, 2010, 07:48:52 pm
Turned up in london to do a job today and well here goes...went there 2wks ago but couldnt do it cos of scaffolding being removed so was called back today. When i got there there were bentleys, bmw, jags, mercs everywhere, was told site would be clear and just me and roof guys to be there, turns out this building has been turned into an iraqi place of worship. At 7.40 am there was loads of shouting going on on top(3rd) floor and thought nowt of it and was working my access out round the back when a man approached me and said"im not in charge" thought it a bit weird and carried on but was overwhelmed by the stench of cooking animals, started to clean top floor when a bottle was threw out of 1 of windows just missing me,at this point the site manager came out the building looking very alarmed and told the roofers no access to building and go home,i just carried on,at this point 2 of these iraqi/afghans started fighting each other and more men came out the building covered in blood and then one of them was pacing up and down the carpark muttering "english b8st8rds".At this point i got very wary and realised it was just me and them, never have i packed away so quickly.Anyone who works cricklewood NW london steer clear. The firm i sub contracted to have agreed to pay me in full but apparently there has been hassle with other contractors already and the building has only been occupied by these crazed idiots a week

Where were you working Helmand Province?

I wasnt put off to begin with but things escalated,I think they were killing animals on site and cooking them, had visions of me with an apple in my mouth and revolving on a spit.
