Title: Newsletter template ?
Post by: Steve Chapman on December 13, 2010, 06:03:47 pm
Hi all,

Does any kind person have an effective newsletter that they mail out to regular customers that they would like to share with me ?   :P   Please  :)

Just need some ideas to kick off my creative juices and an idea of layout etc and how much content to have, that sort of thing.

I know most newsletters are tailored to each business, just want a rough guide that i can reference as its one piece of marketing i've never fully got into.

Thankyou in advance  :-*

Regards
Steve

Dont have a newsletter but heres a heading for ya

                The Weymouth & Portland
                      Healthy HOME'S
                      CLEANING TIMES

Cant think of the paper size but the one that folds over to make A4 that way you have 4 pages
Front page & page 1 about you. second page things not related to cleaning  in your area funny things tips
What happened to MUNTER JOCK IN 1859

Back page try & get other company's in your area to place there ad
builder,   plumer,  electrican,  ect small fee to cover your costs ;)

Thats what i would do  :-\ :-\

OR WAIT FOR BETTER ADVICE THATS ALSO WHAT I WOULD DO ;D ;D

Just had this thought you have the 2012 olympics sailing down there so plenty to talk about for the next 18 months in your news and you could get people intrested in that to place ads on your back page 8)

Steve you  know my area better than i do  ;D

Maybe you should move down to cold sunny portland   :)

Come to think of it that would be bad business for me, better stay put  ;D

What puts me of is every tom dick and harry is doing the olympic theme at the mo, but hey ho it might work.

Might get more interest in discussing the abomination of road works going on here at the moment in preparation for the olympics, takes about two days to get to the other side of town  :o

Like the idea of getting together with other businesses to advertise, I know a couple so may get on to that one,

Cheers

Steve - theres bound to be few of those im sure  ;D

Dont think anyone will be able to get into Weymouth come the Olympics, even with the 'New Road'

If your thinking of coming here then you'd be better by boat me thinks  :)

Tony - snail mail, although will probably do a version later for email.

What about "The adventures of Portland Bill" it would make your customers laugh, you could do of the cuff stories about your cleaning experiences, Derek Bolton used to do something simular in the NCCA newslink and it would make them remember you!!!

It's a nice idea, but that character has already been done so would have to do a modern version or take on it, or I'd be sued for infringement of copyright etc  ::)

A character & story is a good way to go tho, will give it some thought  :-\

Does this mean not many of you actually use a newsletter, or you just don't want to share it  ;D

I would have a front page of YOU and then a page copied from Womans weekly or Readers digest easy reading stuff and that's it.

Steve, I'll try and find one of our previous ones (hard copy), but I'll have to scan it and send as a picture because it was done on Publisher, and I don't have that software on the new pc thanks to the big crash a few weeks ago.

Can you send me an e-mail giving me some idea of what was on it ;D
I know that sounds daft but i want to make sure it is something that we actually used in previous years!!!
In the meantime I've found a free download of publisher so I'll do that and see what happens but that might take a while.
