Im sure some ionics systems circluate water around with the pump and heat tank for day instead of using them on demand?
My question is how long does it tank to get tank hot? I know it demands on volume, but is there a calcualtion or a rough idea please?

hi i have a heat wave which circulates through the system ,i dont think it warms the tank as such , the thermostat is in the pipes and when it reaches 2 degrees it fires up and heatwave heates up to 50degrees and pumps warm water around through hoses and di back into tank so the tank does not get that warm ,the system never gives it a chance for anything to freeze.

on my thermapure system it takes about 5 mins for the water to get to about 50-60 degrees out of the van port, however by the time its run through 50 metres of hose and then through the pole its prob hitting glass at about 40 degrees but don't quote me on that :)

Sorry i must have wires mixed up, but im sure that our loacal ionics guy flicks his system on before he goes out, not sure how long before, his tank is hot and doesnt use the boiler in the day unless he needs to?

yes there is a switch you turn on but from turning it on and the water coming out the van ports at 50-60 degrees takes about 5 mins

bfg, im talking about making the water hot in your tank. Nothing to do with how long it takes to use on demand :)

I have a water heater that allows me to draw hot water from heater through to the hosereel for wfp use.
OR simply turn a valve after the heater, but before the hosereel, so as to re-circulate heated water straight back into the cold water tank so as to stop it freezing overnight by lifting the temperature, (a small amount is all that's necessary), in the insulated tank.

Ok mate, what size tank do you have and how long would it take to heat the whole tank?

650 litre tank and it's not economical to the tank as it's cheaper and more sense to heat water direct to hosereel for wfp use.
Only circulate enough hot water around tank if the transfered water is slushy (icy cold water) to lift it 5 ish degrees so that it doesn't freeze in the tap, pump or pipes overnight if the temperature is below zero.
