;D
Out doing a house today and a lad and his siblings are watching me work.
Little girl; Why are you doing all the top windows?
Me; So that when I go back and do the bottom ones they won't get splashed on from the top ones.
Little girl: That's clever!
Me; Yes it is! Thank you.
Little girls's older brother; (LGOB) Yes, but you don't need to go to University for that job do you?
Me (jocularly); Quite right son! And if you study hard and do well at school you won't need to be a window cleaner like me!
(LGOB); My Dad's a camera operator for the BBC!
Me; Do you want to be a Camera Operator?
(LGOB); No I want to be a vet like my Mum!
Mum sticks her head out of the door and asks me "Are they bothering you?"
Me; "No - I was just discussing the benefits of a University education with your oldest son!"

had a very similar experience with some twin girls about 8 yrs old, going on about why are you a windy, wouldnt you rather be a doctor?
i was thinking, what! just go and play with your dolls and stop worrying about careers
then they were going on about money and their holidays, you could tell they were looking down their noses at me and they were so young!
and then they were nagging to have a go at cleaning the windows, arrgh.
havent seen them since thank goodness.

and when you go to uni you come out with a qualification and 40k worth of debt lol rather be a windy thanks ;D ;D

Depends what you want to do in life,if you want to be a vet or doctor then you need to go to Uni and train but a lot of students go there and do pointless degrees like Media studies etc,I did a HND in Construction and ended up Bricklayer for 15 years before got sick of it and chose easy life ;D

My kids will always have window cleaning to fall back on. It may not be great but as I tell them its money and all money looks the same once its in your pocket.
I have always included them in what I do so they have experience of it first hand. My oldest son is at Bristol doing Psycology and if all goes well in a few years time will have Dr in front of his name but that doesn't guarantee him a job. Window cleaning does.

I had a young lad watching me who said "I'd like to be a window cleaner when I'm older".
Quick as a flash his mother (right in front of me) said "No you don't young man!"
Cheers for that you old bag!

Something that gives them a good but stress free life, although to be honest id rather my daughter uses her head and works for herself doing something that she enjoys because in my experience employment always has some jumped up prat above you treating everyone like his slaves and inferiors, i dont wish that she become a millionaire as it doesnt bring happiness, but so long as she has enough money to live comfortably its all good

I had a customers kid (about 4, he wasn't even in school yet) come out and tell me I do a rubbish job. I didn't know what to say, he was only 4 and I couldn't really see how I could argue with him. I though maybe he was refering to the quality of the job and had overheard his parents slaggin me off.
He put me right the next month though, when he got his chance he told me his dad had a "poper job" not like me. Really pd me off as it can only have come from the parents at that age. He always makes sure there is nobody around to overhear him though.

He sounds like he's a great little kid.
Tell him Santa has died in a car crash, killing three of the reindeers, including Rudolph, and Christmas is going to be different this year.
Keep a straight face and tell him you've just heard it on the news.
