If you have a Santander business account, check your charges thoroughly this month. I have had a statement through and it says at the bottom that they will be charging me £64 for exceeding my cheque limit in November. This would mean that I had deposited 228 cheques during that month. The actual number was 44 - so no charge is due. This problem was around for a few months a couple of years ago and they "fixed" it. Looks like it's re-surfaced. I phoned them. They said the charge will not now be made. Wonder what would have happened if I hadn't noticed.

I've been with them for many years. Abbey National then Abbey, lately Santander.
First 100 cheques are free. 50p per cheque thereafter per calendar month. Watch it on the calendar month date. The date starts from the same date as the account started - not (necessarily) 1st of the month.

Cheers Hydro. I must have missed that thread first time around. Glad you got it sorted without cost to you.
It's tempting to write these idiots a letter charging them for my time in scrutinizing the statement - just to make a point.
