Title: CL-X Pole
Post by: reachandshine on December 07, 2010, 06:57:39 pm
Thinking about ordering a Cl-x pole from Gardiners- is it a good everyday pole? What's best size 18 or 22?

Is the 18 the same length collapsed as the 22 (just more sections)?

I'm not sure as I have not seen a 22. I'm sure the website will tell you though.

Yep,both 4'9" and clx22 has an extra section. Go to www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk,  click the wfp  section and it gives you  height,  weight etc :P

Went for 18, it's what I've got at moment and get on ok with that.

I'm sure you'll like it.

I would have gone for the 22 & taken the base section off, just adding it again when needed. ;)

Was it the Clx or slx you went for? im gona call em tomorrow and get one , its only £85 for the CLX and the weight difference is only 100g,

Who thinks its worth getting an SLX over a clx considering the price differences is it worth it ? someone told me the slx felt better to clean with but i dont know...

Cheers

I  dont see the point of getting the 18 as the 22ft is very very light anyway!!and the extra length will come in handy for that awkward window above a flat roof/conservatory!be careful you dont over extend the sections as i broke a clamp when i did!the stop sections soon stop working!but a good domestic every day pole for the price.

Don't forget to order the glue for the clamps... This is not a knock at Gardiners, the rest of their gear is very good, just the clamps are crap totally.

I think they had a batch with poor glue, but that is now sorted. I had one 7 months ago no problem and another two weeks ago with no problems so far.

So what are the Super lite poles like; for the price the 55ft version sounds good; " the lightest tele pole in the world "; are they any good????

Please don't tell me to get a modular pole as I don't fancy them; not adjustable enough for my liking :)

The "super-lite" is a modular pole.  Do you mean S-Max?

Dave Willis on matt's "cleeningforums" has one & is very impressed with it. I have a 25ft slx & 60ft SL2 (super-lite)

One thing to note though is that there are now TWO S-MAX versions. One has shorter sections which enables a shorter closed length but has a fatter base section. The other has thinner base sections but longer closed length (fewer sections). They now come standard with the new carbon goosneck, which I have & is like helium! ;D

So, to be honest I can't personally comment on the SMAX but going on my experience with other Gardiner products I don't think you would be disappointed.

Hope that helps a little ;)
