Easy, why didn't I think of it before?

You want a pole that stays extended but has no clamps?

Ok, here it is.

Get your ordinary pole and remove the clamps.
Second, dip the entire pole in water - make sure no ISO in it, ok?
Allow to freeze overnight.

Bingo!  One clampless pole.

Don't forget to extend it first, of course.

You could make it more permanent by glueing the joints.

Don't forget to extend it first, of course ;)
