Does anyone on here have good experience of deep cleaning to large commercial kitchens including, extracta fans, canopies etc?

Hi Denise,
Just curious here.
On your website you offer lots of services.
Are all of them subbed out?
Do you do any of the specialist work yourselves? i.e. by you or your own staff that are directly employed by you.
Are you asking for advice on the deep cleaning of kitchens here on this thread or are you seeking a subbie.
Also if they are subbed out - Nothing wrong with that all but how can you oversee any work if you do not have the knowledge to rectify any unforeseen difficulties.
regards
Dave

Hello Dave
Yes I do sub the work out as I think it is a better option than employing direct and does away with tax, NI etc. I can also negoiate price work rather than hourly rate although when I quote for the work I estimate how many hours it would take. As for my knowledge, I was a Special services Manager for an International company for many years and I personally oversaw all work for Carpet , Windows, Ultrasonics, Kitchen, Fire & Flood and Office cleaning. Personnel were directly employed and I often worked with them if time was tight so I do have extensive experience. I do employ some of my own direct labour but if a lot of work comes in then I wil sub it out. Hope this answers your question
With Commercial kitchen cleaning I am tendering for NHS contract, and thats why I am asking.

Why has that put me in my place?
I was not rude, I was just trying to establish what experience Denise has. I never said that she was stupid or implied it.
The reason for the question was in her other posts on here she seems to sub her work and I just wanted clarification on whether she had any relevant experience.
If my question come over inappropriately I apologise Denise

No problem with the question, happy to explain.

If it is NHS work you may find it difficult to sub out due to the minimal pricing also why would an experienced subbie take on the work from you when they may win the contract themselves with their experience and a price that leaves yours a bit on the pricey side
Better apologise to Mark for my manner if it was in any way offensive Denise honestly it is walking on eggshells here some nights

Thanks Gordon,
Theexperienced companies that I probably would be up against are the likes of OCS, Mitie etc. A lot of the subbies cant get past doing the PPQ before they are invited to tender, its very hard to get through this. I m quite experienced now on Government tenders but it took me a year to learn by doing workshops. Thought subbies then could get a bite of the work that way. helps the supply chain.

Hi Denise
At your workshops have you come across the new "Quick Quote" and are you on anyones preffered supplier list?

The workshops are run free of charge by locally funded governement bodies. Here in S Wales it is FS4Business and they explain what Goverment Contracts are looking for in your reply PQQ, that is a Pre Qualifying Questionaire. Unless you answer all the questions correctly(scored) and supply the relevant docs (H&S) Ins etc you don,t get invited to tender. If you do, then you have to attend sites at a given time and submit it in the way they require. Quite hard work but at least you get a few years contract out of it and they get to know you so other referals come. Hope this helps.

Hi Denise,
I used to clean Kitchens for ASDA and the Environment Agency on behalf of a large Yorkshire cleaning company. It was a number of years ago when I had a cleaning company based up there.
What do you need to know? e-mail info@purple-rhino.co.uk

Hi Denise
We clean commercial kitchens, canopy & extraction systems, the relevant guidelines for extraction systems are easy to get hold of.
It is easy to come a cropper on the extraction system cleaning if you dont get a really good look at the build of grease in the ducting and flu's when you visit a site, also you will need to make sure there are adequate inspection hatches to carry out a thorough clean as you will be certifying the work.
Please feel free to give me a call.
regards
Mike
