For me its the low daily cost base ... my background was running a Toyota Dealership where just to open the sales department cost over £2000 PER DAY.
-
I like having the entire week off when it freezes. It's brilliant.
-
Its regular money, outside, low overheads and I can choose when i work apart from this week ;D

I can always rely on window cleaning to put food on the table. It's easy money and i'll never go bust. I've also lots of friends from window cleaning and i have complete freedom.

I agree with this to a certain extent in my case. As I get older, wfp has extended my working life but it doesn't get any easier as the months go by. If I don't feel too good on a particular day I can plod along and I don't have to justify a 'quiet' day to anyone but myself. I too was in the motor trade - the stress of reaching sales targets every month, long hours and newer high targets every year just wore me out. I do enjoy talking to people, but I would never give 'meeting new people' a reason for being in this business.
I am not sure about having 'complete freedom' as you are still committed and accountable to your customers - you can't do as you like when you like, but I think I understand what you mean.
I have different stresses now - to have enough to pay the bills, especially when the weather is bad. But then we are all rowing the same boat at the moment.

Been outdoors enjoying all the different season's, been your own boss earn what you want when you want, making your own future in life and having a rewarding end product eg customers please in what you do and pass you on to new customers etc ;D ;D

I guess you guys who say its no stress and who take days off willy nilly because you feel like it are newbies or guys who have small incomplete rounds. I have built my round up to the max where for every day i dont work i fall behind and lose a days money which to me adds stress. For example... If you have a 4k a month round and stupidly cant be arsed to go in for 4 days in that month that is a lot of money you are chucking away my friends 800 pounds. If u lose 200 for taking a day off then why the hell make out that is fine and great going to wprk as and when. You are mugging yourselfs off thinking like that. It is no easy ride to become a sucess in this game. I will get there 1 day but only if i put my all into it and not be a dosser and lazy thinking ill do it 2moz 1 day late wont hurt.........
I suppose it's about how someone measures success really.
On my deathbed, I certainly won't be wishing I had done more overtime.
I might just have a twinge of regret at never visiting (named place) because I was busy working.
Having written that, I'm off out to work in a few minutes ;D

My own boss, can take a day off work whenever I want even if I do get behind because of it (I'm the boss not the customers).
I own a successful business. Operating 13 years, full to the brim.
Excellent rate of pay.
Freedom.
Don't have to take instructions from anyone.
I get a buzz from achieving and/or surpassing my targets/hopes/expectations.

Having new customers say, ‘I’ve never seen my windows looking that clean before. Do you have room on your round to clean my neighbours?’
