Title: Rock Salt Staining/Residue Advice
Post by: L.Doubtfire - The Blade Runner on December 03, 2010, 11:52:21 am
Hi fella`s( and gals). Tried `spotting` and removing some stains
On a hallway carpet that’s the residue from the rock salt that’s been
Put down by the council this past week or so.It`s drying to a whiteish
Powder before attempting to `spot`and remove.I thought stiff riggorish
Brushing would do the trick,as it always has in the past but there`s only
A marginal improvement.
Prior to HWE what chemiclas and `spotters`would you recommend to use
In these circumstances.
It`s an 80 per cent wool 20 per cent nylon Axminster that has`nt been
Scotchguarded or any type of protective coating.

Thanks in advance for help and advice.

I found in past the chems you use dont make the difference - it needs a right good flush out .

Chemspec DFC105 being salt based is particularly good for this task.

A good prevacuum and agitation if they are dry is also well advised prior to cleaning.
