If you want space go for an upright tank. Have a look on Pure Freedoms site. Dimensions on there.

Mine is an 800 litre in a lwb vivaro. sits nicely behind the bulk head and had enough room to still carry gutter vac, generator or other equipment

Cheers Guys,

When building the system all the information was sourced from this forum.

The tank was custom made from www.plasticwatertanks.co.uk

If you don't mind me asking, how much?

Is it totally waterproof - looks a bit flimsy, the edges/corners I mean.?

Tank cost 585, always had custom tanks never had problem with them, really sturdy.                          Yeah Lee they are L5s, full gas tank costing 13 pounds lasts 3 days with heat quite high.

I made them from some aluminium rod.

Hi John, the gas bottle is a refillable gaslow system. Just pop in a petrol station with LPG and fill up.

Mick hay,

This topic is one of my favourite subjects. Some very good examples have been posted.

You have already decided you want 800- 1000l so payload is important.Do you want to work van doors closed or open? Do you want to carry ladders inside the van?

Most van/tank combos won't allow much else.Do you need other kit in there? If not a scudo despatch, if you do a ducatto.

As you are thinking diy, get good kit, such as proper reels like brad.

After years of DIY i had a tank fitted and am very pleaed i did.

Thanks for all the pics lads, gives me a good idea.

Slumpbuster:-   Ive got a scudo at the mo,. its my 2nd van, been using it now for just over 5 years.

Always work with doors closed, with the port under the rear, my current system is an omniploe 450 ltr.

Need a van that i can keep everything in, thats why i wanted pics of fitted systems to see the footprint of the systems.

Will prob be looking at a transit 350 mwb, 04-05 model.

Keep em coming lads if you got anymore   ;)

im not sure if you mean me but its no problem winding them up like that by hand, but i use a cordless drill  now to wind them in, its much quicker.
