3 pair of boots I've gone through and they all let water through, it's not so much the rain but the snow that does it. It's driving me mad.
Which boots are 100% water proof and will be in years to come. Please, tell me.

These - I paid well over a ton for mine. Coat them with Nikwax and they are brilliant. Light enough for the summer too.

Looks good. Do you have to use Nikwax or will they be dry without them? I guess that's the point of Goretex right? Are they comfy? I've got Karrimor at the moment, and they are really nice, light and not tiring. Just wet. :D

Really comfy and light. I've got two pairs just in case I get a soaking but they've never leaked.
I also tried some Hi-Tec guaranteed waterproof boots - they had some amazing coating on them, Iron Mask I think it was called - they leaked like a sieve I took them back after two weeks.
-
Sounds good that they are light. I really like the high boot style rather then the trainer style low boots but some of them are heavy like a brick!
-
I bought some of these yesterday for working in the snow, worked this morning in them, I like them because I can just slip them on and off, handy when I have to go through peoples houses

i need something with vibram soles as i seem to wear boots out very quick. i am constantly working about town centres and walking on hard surfaces so wear them out quic. Next boot will have vibram soles
-
Army boots are warm and dry. If you buy the Grade 1 used boots cheap as well
About £20 from Surplus & Outdoors
German boots even better, about £25

Vibram soles come in all different grades, most are a soft rubber which grip well on soft ground but will abraid quickly on pavements and the like.
Your best bet is Magnums , usually worn by doormen they'll last for ages and all you have to do , [ as with any boot ] is dubb them frequently.
