Title: So we know a website is ncessary
Post by: craig melvin on November 30, 2010, 08:37:33 pm
Just reading that other post and it appears that the yellow pages has died off a bit over the years, and more and more people are using the internet - i.e looking at web pages.

I got some great info off here recently with regards to flyers and who to design and print them for the right money.

what website designers (which people are pleased with) on here do you all recommend?

& how much would you expect too pay? roughly ?

would people find you by typing in your website and looking at what you do (from alfeaflet for example) or do potential customers google carpet cleaner & Coventry for example?

Because not everyone can be at the top of the lists

great topic of interest !!!!

In answer to your question as to whether people visit your website through a Google search or by responding to a web address on a leaflet... both!

Price of a website kind of depends on what you want. Some people spend thousands on them.

Looks good Colin and £300 is good value. Do you come up high on searches?

1st page on Google, it's been live for about 3-4 weeks and has almost paid for itself already....

That's great Colin.

I think where you live makes a difference, some get little even though they are No1 and others get a lot even on first page.

Our was launched on the Sunday and was taking bookings on the Monday - At the end of the day a website is just another form of advertising, its all about what you are advertising and how its advertised

I agree but just like flyers or ads... if no1 is seeing it (getting onto your page) its as good as an unwanted overhead

Craig - A website is like a book, It may have a nice front cover, but if the storylineis rubbish, it doesnt get a good review. This is where content is very important, the better the content etc etc, the higher the ranking - does this make sense

I am afraid its fairly simple to get on the first page when you know how keeping position is a dif ball game content needs to be altered to keep googles spiders going

It does if you read a lot of american internet marketing sales pages.

People want a carpet cleaner, you make sure you appear first, your sole purpose of that page is to get them to pick up the phone straight away and ring you now. (unles it's the middle of the night of course) ;D

They do ring in the middle of the night if required and it pays very nicely to answer the phone

Monty

Great idea Monty............Mrs Smith phones you and says " Hi Monty I want to pay £8.99 per room when can you call "  and you say " Thanks for calling and offering to pay me £8.99 I can fit you in on Monday "

No wonder you're rushed off your feet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming it does'nt work that way..................but it's what it says on your web page.
