Title: Damage to systems due to cold?
Post by: SB Cleaning on November 30, 2010, 08:09:42 pm
Just wondering how many people with wfp systems have had damage due to the cold weather?
I have had a cracked pre filter and just noticed the strainer is leaking too >:(

You may find it hard to get a replacement. Last winter demand far exceeded supply. For obvious reasons.

No, mine are indoors. Still working though, out to the tank through the window and waste down the sink.
No way I'd leave it outside. :o

Yeah my RO is shot at. Every part that could break has done. It was left inside my van over the weekend.

I acted quick though and a new one came today.

Dean.

A part of my pressure washer cracked and broke.(a metal high pressure fixing) Luckily my repair guy is great and repaired it for me on the side of the road yesterday.

both 20" pre filter housings exploded!! cracked in 2 with horizontal split and a vertical split right to top!! Contacted cleaningwarehouse where system was purchased and installed...quoted £35 plus VAT for each fillter which I thought was a bit steep considering the system is only 11 months old...I mentioned this to the guy on phone and he said "yes it is expensive but we only use the best part!!"

"well they cant be that good, they have just exploded and Liverpool hasnt been THAT bad compared to other parts of UK"

"well you shouldnt have let the system freeze should you!" the cheeky sod said!!

anyway, got replacements elsewhere and have transferred RO system from van into shed with heater and insulation in place...needed a heater and submersible pump as well so spent over a £100 and lost 2 days work

How much did you pay for filters steve?

I got mine from the cleaning warehouse and thought it was pricey!
