Title: Is my pump broke?
Post by: Luke B on November 30, 2010, 06:27:37 pm
Would appreciate some advice on my 100psi pump.

Yesterday it was running a few seconds then stopping on dead end then running a bit then stopping etc and this has carried on today. I thought it may have just been the resistance from freezing water in the hose dead ending it.

Anyone else experienced this?

I have a heater in the van but could the pump have frozen and if it has does the intermittent stopping mean its had it you think?

Ive brought it in tonight (have cut it out so will have to re connect tomorrow if the snow aint too thick) to warm it up and am hoping it will run ok again.

Is there any ice in your van tank?Just a thought as particles may be drawn to your pump and that might be the problem? You never said if water was coming out the hose/pump ok or not?

Bet theres ive somewhere along the line. I had a heater in van other night set to 18 degrees...my hose from tank to pump was still frozen. Got hairdryer on it (then got in trouble with wife for using it  ;D) and it was fine.

Get hairdryer out and warm it all up,

↲Yes the flow is slowing down before stopping. Battery is fully charged, and its run on liquid logic controller.↲There may some ice in tank but it looks all liquid

Thanks to all, especially blue monkey you ve put my mind at rest, is it the cold that caused it or the controller?

Probably struggling with the cold, but it may just be cycling if it's adjusted badly.
Need to get inside the varistream to adjust that.

is that two reels off one pump or off two pumps? I run two poles off one reel at the mo but two reels would be better.
