Afternoon all,
I clean carpets etc on boats and in houses in Mallorca. Looking for some advice on mattresses. Best chemicals, methods etc.
Reasonably successful with them in the past but always walk away thinking it could have been better.
Cheers

Hi First dead jealous of your location 8) deep in snow here in the UK :( Well treat as upholstery, L/M is the way to go with a tool such as CFR. Be careful of interior padding bleeding through. chems such as M.Power / Nemises with a acid rinse would be the way to go IMO.
As you probably realized results are limited ie urine / body fluids, you can only say it will be clean and de-odourised. Off course a pre - vac would be required. hope this helps

i normally use prochem double clean then spray will deoudoriser , or a micro splitter , prochem ultrapack , but what ever you do tell the custemor that the sweat , and p stains and body grees, wont disapper , but just show the the dirt , after cleaning , they will be amazed

Thanks guys,
Raining and freezing here today 16 degrees!
Acid rinse can do wonders (I use Hydramasters) and at times ammonia solution for sweat stains, but itīs always good to hear what others use.

Surely there aren't many carpets in Mallorca, do you do hard floors as well?

Boats & Rugs mainly. Some of the brits have bedroom carpets but not a lot!

If you want, I can come and train you, should take me all of about 3 months and my rent and expenses would have to be paid lol x

Sorry Monty,
I can only offer free beer, lots of laughs, pies, crap music, sunshine and topless birds.

Hi
Really good vac and sanitise providing no body fluid issues. Then advise to pull back cover every day and make sure its aired, this dry's out any body moisture and will helps prevent dust mite the environment they need.
If dirty then hot water extract with a santise product and other additives to brighten it up. if you have tide marks this can be removed but would not be worth the effort because of the time evolved and would then start to work out expensive

The daft thing is, the price is rarely a problem. 50 euro per mattress is about the minimum we try to from boats get so we donīt mind spending the time. In fact for 50 euro if the dirt comes straight out we look like bandits!
