Title: Van heater if you have electric supply
Post by: ♠Winp®oClean♠ on November 30, 2010, 10:41:37 am
Personally I think these would be much more effective than oil filled rads.

The top one has timer, thermostat.

The fifth one down also has a blower.

I do have the top one BUT mine also has a blower, however that one doesn't say so? ???

Also, I have never used it for the van BUT they do radiate heat (convector) & the blower will circulate it.

You can choose settings between 1kw 1.5kw & 2kw

You're right BUT you can't have your cake & eat it! ;)

Parrafin greenhouse heaters don't look like they're doing the business?

With a timer you could have it come on at 3am etc.

I got a couple of these from a store called Makro for £29 plus vat.

They have an anti frost setting on them, working a treat at the mo!

I did have a 700w oil filled rad in but that never touched it the other night everything froze solid and a broken sediment filter housing to boot >:(

So i went out and bought a 1500w oil rad from focus for 29.99 and its well toasty in there now :D

I have used a b & q oil filled radiator heater in the past and found it to be crap!  ???
Personally I agree with Winproclean and I reckon fan heaters are better at circulating the heat faster and more efficiently. But used with an RCD for safety.

I would not recommend these if you value your van, I used one a couple of years back, it took days to clean all the black oily soot of all the walls and roof. Never again.
