This is going to be something of a biased sample, I suspect.

-
does not look like it,it looks like it will be a stop and start day the snow
-
Had a light covering of snow last night. But its the extreme temps that will keep me indoors today. Got most of my month in anyway.
-
Was planning on getting out but the snows hammering down here in notts.
-
suns shiing here now, just cold, cant get van started and cant get it looked at till tomoz >:(
-
Probably not as the snow has finally come to the southeast and is still coming down lightly. If it stops later I will venture out though.
-
Yup ... out tradding at 11am to about 2.30pm to a little estate I do with about 6 houses on it ... fortunately not swapped them over to wfp ... that was going to be this clean ::) .... worth about £65 which is better than nowt plus will make me feel better just getting out and on the glass.
-
Going out now to do some flats, can't imagine I'll be out for long.
-
yes, I'm going to put some gloves on though
-
cleaning the windows today is no problem.... getting into the estates is another matter,
remember when they used to grit all estate roads ?
-
no work for me today. .temp to low
-
no not for me again! ;D ;D ;D
xmas shopping is the order of the day!got a few pressies yesterday and im gonna get the rest today!itll be good to get it out of the way then i can concentrate on working as much as possible up to the 23rd dec then 2 weeks off!(1 week at home and 1 week in new york!).
ill probably end up having tommorrow off as well.a light dusting of snow here and icy wind.more forecast for tommorrow.if it carries on getting worse ill write the week off completely and start fresh on monday morning.if the weather is still bad ill resort to trad poles/screenwash from monday onwards until it gets warmer.

Did some offices from 7am this morning. This picture is of one of my trip hazard signs after 10 mins. As I was working my black pole was white on one side.
Simon.
-
snowing heavy for last 2 hrs here in surrey
-
Half inch of snow here, but must be above freezing as it's melting quickly.
Give me an hour or so to defrost the van and I'll have a crack at work.
Only thing is I'm due in a higher up village that will be a tad more snowy! :-\
-
We are at about 18inches (50cm) of snow :o
-
Second day out for me. Snow was falling yesterday, it melted a bit, then frose to black ice. The van is going nowhere. >:(
-
No chance am i getting my ladders out in the snow. Just too dangerous.

Proper thaw going on here. If only the van would a bit quicker!

Do the spikes work?
-
yeh they work as they dont have snow under them like a normal ladder foot would have, but still dangerous in these conditions with the floor being so cold, but as long as the ladder is at the right angle and your not stretching they ok
-
I kept my options open for a while but have now decided to write off today. Snow on the ground is OK but it's still coming down here. First day that we've had snowfall though.
-
iv decided instead of doing my normal weeks work they finishing for weekend to just get all the month done asap,at this rate be hard but will work saturdays now to make sure im finished before xmas
-
loads of snow & a nice cup of tea
-
i got out for two hours but sleet came in and got too heavy

well was good idea but no good as estate all snowed / iced in and not safe with ladders on slippy ground IMHO ... spending tomorrow setting up my IBC in the garage and moving RO from van to garage ... felt better when I got home as the postman had been with 9 cheques ;D ;D ;D
-
no way hose' about 8inch here :-\

You Scots lads should be well used to snow by now because you get loads every year unlike us southeners that dont usually get much.
-
ive been working all day in the snow! come on you part timers! ;D its not bad when its snowing its not bitterly cold! i can even hold the pole without gloves so it defo not that bad!
dont blame the weather just admit you want the day off! nothing wrong with days off, but dont blame the poor snow! ;)

I've only ever seen 18inches of snow once before. That was Jan/Feb 2010

Spose to be same tomoz, but will brave it and see!!!!!

It's been a non-starter for me today. Non-stop snow here (Medway).
John.
-

-

-
People just look at you as if you are totally mad when they answer the door to you. Its like you have just landed from the planet Zog.
One lady, before I could speak said "surely you are not going to do them today" and I with a bit of quick thinking said "No I just knocked to say I would probably be about a week late because of the weather" and walked off feeling like a complete berk.
-
Looks like your signature is correct in this instance then Vince ;)
-
I did 2/3 of a normal day's earnings, £15 of tips and a big tin of Quality Street.
Not bad for a 1pm start! :)
-
Well i made it out about ten after it brightened up didn't get all my work done but i was pleased i went out, wfp all the tops and trad the bottoms even though these customers today don't like wfp they are more than happy for me to use it in this weather so hopefully i will be back out tomorrow
-
Just got in, did a full day but what a nightmare. Salt still encrusts the windows after those storms a couple of weeks ago, it was like doing 13 first cleans.
First thing was fun, the estate road was covered in ice although it had stopped freezing. I had to give up trying to push the trolley up hill with 2 containers on.just about managed with one.
That wind was bitterly cold, and after trying to warm myself with a cup of coffee I needed to pee. I crouched in the back of the car with the fabric conditioner bottle. I had a hell of a job trying to reach the bottle with my manhood, that's how cold it was, and my padded trousers are only 5mm thick.

Yeah that's true.
I'll be glad when I've done a complete round then it'll be back to normal.
-
ive been a lazy sod today ;D
-
Too cold here, been doing snow clearance/standby for German Rail instead. Going to be minus 8 to 10 all week so no chance of WCing. Not worried though, have alot of carpet & upholstery work booked for December. Learned a lesson from last winter. :)

Busy day for me.
After signing on, I filled the Mondeo up with red, got some new beer towels, got a new Burberry cap, some tracky bottoms and some of those quilted shirts.
Then home to put up the last of the Chrimbo decorations; I`ve been putting them up for weeks, there`s that many.
Not done any windows but I`ll collect them anyway. The old codgers especially, are push-overs. Even charge some 2 or 3 times, even though they don`t owe it ;).
-
Same here Cozy....just waiting for the cabin fever to kick in....
-
not had a problem with the weather here is sunny taunton in somerset. must be the only place in the country to have not have any snow yet. bit nippy on them ears though in the afternnon. :'(
-
I managed a full day today, in's and out's a few new customers and two gutter jobs to boot! Only problem was couldn't use the gutter vac due to the frozen stuff in the gutters so resorted to ladders and a bucket. Was all going great, using the laddermate which I think is a brilliant bit of kit, to stop the ladders slipping on the ice, but when I was emptying the bucket in the customers green bin a huge gust of wind came from nowhere and I only just managed to catch the ladders before they fell on next doors car! Nearly a very expensive days work.
Will remember to collapse ladder every time I leave it in the future.

Highest temp is minus 7 tomorrow mate. Some snow tomorrow night. Got a feeling this could be worse than last winter. Yep, cabin fever is on the cards ;D ;D ;D
