Title: Screen wash in trad
Post by: LWC on November 29, 2010, 06:42:22 pm
Never used this, never even thought of it to be honest. Can use it up to -15! I had probs with trading a few downs today with them freezing real quick!

How much do you stick in yer bucket?

Do you buy concentrate or ready mix?

Ive got some concentrate.

i think i got the ready mixed last year, had to put 1/2 to 3/4 in the bucket before it stopped freezing, i think that was from a 1L-1.5L bottle

Tried salt and it left streaks Stu. We use 50/50 water and screenwash concentrate. Works down to minus 6. The reason it freezes lower than that is because it is spread thinly over a large surface. so we've found minus 6 is about the limit.

;D halfords any supermarket or any car auto shop, I have always used screenwash when freezing and always have some lying around.

I only asked about salt as I know another guy that uses it for doing his shops and he is happy with it and it is cheaper

why not just add pure anti freeze to your water/soap mix this seems the most obvious solution to me!?!?

I used screen wash on my downstairs windows yesterday, got a 25litre barrel undiluted last year as I get through quite a bit with 2 vehicles and I use it neat (in vehicles) so never freezes. The windows came up great, looked today in the low sun and not a streak. I just tipped a real good glug in with a couple of tea spoons of squeegee off.
