Title: are you a hypocrite...?
Post by: bobplum on November 29, 2010, 12:44:59 pm
i cant belive that if you wfp a property and you praise the WFP GODS you suddenly decide, because of a lost day or twos production you now "BELIVE" its ok to back to  trad
if you turned up at my house after convincing me about the benefits of wfp and going back to trad id ask you not to come back as i would think it was unacceptable especially if you had put the price up when converting from trad to wfp

i would like to stay and debate but my van systems needs thawing failing that i will need to look for my wagtail ;D

No, it should have been stated that a ladder shouldn't be used unless there is no alternative. In theses conditions wfp is more dangerous. So a ladder is acceptable.

I'm not aware of anyone getting ladders out. I certainly won't be. Got no way of carrying them anyway.

Ooooooo! There's some angry people on here lol

I'm WFP, and still am in this weather.

Why is it that there is such a divide between trad and WFP? So what if someone gets their ladders out, it's up to them
 ;D

Dont understand why you would want to go up ladders in this weather unless your a trady  ::) I dont think no other alternative would wash if you had a accident, the alternative in Icy weather is sit it out.

You lot have no bottle ::)

Now when I were a lad I were told I weren't a shiner unless I could set me ladder on sloping ice, with only one style end on the wall, then run up it and stand on the very top rung with a bucket of boiling water (to stop it freezing on't'glass) in one 'and and me squeegee in t'other and me scrim in me teeth.

I could do it an' all, but 'ad ter stop in 1978 when some silly b****r tripped over me ladder and knocked me off.

Never been the same since ;D

I never told my customers any bull benefits of wfp. Just asked them if they want a window cleaner or not!! If any bothered to even ask how I did it I told them. Never told them any rubbish about ladders being banned, or that it cleans better.

this weather was a big part of why i went wfp . so no chance of getting the ladders out. it seems its the guys who let there gear freeze up that get the ladders out. simple dont let your gear freeze . never lost a day to frozen gear (i am cold water ) . this weather if you get out between 10-2  you can still keep on top of your work . :)

I WFP'd tops, and downs that were in sun, the windows that were in shade froze quick so traded them and traded doors and windows with any pathways below.

i got me ladders out today,no problems at all,NO it wasnt dangeous no ice on the gound otherwise i would have not done them.

i never told any of my custys that ladders where banned, just said i use them when and where i feel the need.

now how does that make me a hypocrite.bear in mind i done trad for a 5 years before i went wfp.and now i still only do 75%wfp :P

if there was no ice or snow issues for you , then itwas pointless you  replying. as it would have just been a normal work day

I've been out on the ladders as per usual today.  :)

Last night we had little more than a few flakes of snow, which did not freeze over. I tested the ground outside where I live (on a hill). No problems whatsoever. Any hint of slippery ground would have had me indoors all day.

John.

Do people do this?  Personally I would not charge more just for WFP.
