It's a very kind thought boshravie - but those massages will take time and might be misinterpreted by your lady custies husbands! I'd stick to messages with an "E"!  ;D

You've spelled the word massages when you mean messages. I'm sure you understand that offering a custy a massage is different to offering a message.  ;D

M e s s a g e = text/letter/phone call - a communication

M a s s a g e = a body rub that might be misinterpreted by your custies! ;D

Why text have the shops run out of cards?

Plus cards are cheaper!

Well texting is much cheaper and so instant, the customer notice the text much better. (its right in front of them in and more noticeable).

I dont think sending a text is much of a personal touch!

I was thinking  in lines of this:

Dear Mrs/Mr ………. The new festive season is up on us and  And may I say;
When you're lonely, I wish you Love!
When you're down, I wish you Joy!
When you're troubled, I wish you Peace!
When things seem empty, I wish you Hope!

On this festive season.
 ;)

Thank-you for your custom during this past year. I wouldn't say I have been overcharging you as you did make mention of in April but I shall think about your comments when the g/f and I are sunning ourselves in Thailand over crimbo and New Year...see you in march!

Dave.

Come on mate, what you said there is the most sickly thing ive seen on here. I would be like "ermmmm ok ... thanks" if i got that text in a weird way. No offence but that is daft.

Dear Mr/Mrs ... Thank you for your custom this year. Look forward to seeing you in New Year. Thanks again.

That is more than enough

The idea that I wrote what I wrote is to complement the customer in a way that not many people would complement, think about when was last time some one complement you this way? I am sure not that many times, so when you complement any person this way, you will get much better reaction from the opposite side, so give it try and try not to criticize this, I put it to test every day and it works every single time, So try it and see the smile on that person who you complement these words to.
Incidentally this is what I wrote:

Dear Mr/Mrs ………. The new festive season is up on us and  And may I say;
When you're lonely, I wish you Love!
When you're down, I wish you Joy!
When you're troubled, I wish you Peace!
When things seem empty, I wish you Hope!

Bosh  :)

:o  How tacky is that!!! if anyone sent me that I would seriously reconsider my options and get a new cleaner.

This has to be a wind up! If not have you considered counseling?  ;D

This is a reaction I get from people who don’t understand the physiology behind this type of marketing . ;-)

of course I "understand" but I am also a customer for plenty of other trades, and if one of them sent me or my missus a text like that i would seriously wonder about him.
It is so tacky and the  ;) at the end makes it seem even less sincere, but hey its your business so go for it! I wont lose sleep  ;D

Oh and before you have a go at me for not understanding the "physiology" of what you’re doing may I suggest you look that word up. I don’t think you understand it!!!   ;D

I don’t expect every one to appreciate this way of complementing people, every one is different, its just the person who has been teaching me of this way of life and treating people and millions of other people around the world, is multimillionaire himself so he must be doing something RIGHT.  :)

Last xmas I designed my own xmas cards via Vista Print. I uploaded a few pictures from when I backpacked around the world 4 years ago. Then wrote a nice xmas message to thank them for their business. Went down really well.

Message to Boshravie,
I have just re read my posts from earlier, they read very negative and attacking. it was not my intention, They were meant tongue in cheek but did not come across that way. Appologies.

I still dont like your idea though  ;D

My last comment was made in jest Boshravie, I hope you were not offended  :D

On a serious note I feel your sentiments are in the right place, and Christmas can be a good time to thank your customers for their business throughout the year.
I would guess they would prefer a card rather than a text message.
If you are lucky you might even get a tip  ;)

i think its a bad idea mate!NO cards NO silly text messages!just a sincere "all the best for xmas and see you in the new year"when you see them!i usually get £500+ in tips and the usual bottles of wine etc although i dont expect it.

anything is a bonus and shows they appreciate my service all year round.cards and text with creepy messages are a big no no IMO.

regards
