allow about two weeks for delivery,in the meantime you need a flow restrictor from rs componponents
code fs3.r1/4 thread 0.95 lpm-thats from the box i got mine in and buy a couple of tap washers for this, and some brass hoselock connections,to be fair if there is anyone to ask about this guys, its nat he help me soooo much in fitting mine-it works atreat now you can see the differnce it makes to cleaning,as a plus when trad you always have hot water to hand ;D.the l5 is not the be all and end all heater but for a low price its good to have,as an aside i've had the hose from the l5 to the hosereel burst twice due to heat and high pressure-am now going to use washing machine hose as it should withstand the heat more-its a learning curve :Doh i forgot to mention the heater comes with the wrong regulator you need a new one for lpg(red gas bottle)

Well ive thought long and hard about the L5 and ive decided to get on board. It would be silly not to at that price.I was tempted last year, but like most on here was sceptical about how good it would perform.Anyway the feed back has convinced me.This forum is invaluable with the wealth of experience and advice that is given. Thanks Chaps :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Why do you need a flow restricter

If youve got a varistream then you can have just a dribble or full flow

hi marcus yeh i thought that(i always have to learn the hard way!)the varistream comes after the heater if you restrict the flow the gas will shut off as i understand it-best to get the restrictor/save water/save hassle-i did under nats advice and its really worked for me

surely the pump has to come before the heater  ??? Im confused I was planing to cut the hose between the pump and the hose reel and add the L5 in there

Chris,

Your more than welcome to pop over and I'll help as much as I can but it is pretty straight forward. You are right, pump, l5, hosreel. I havent used a flow restrictor and it works really well, all I did was adjust the pressure switch setting a bit.

Whats an L5?

Where did you buy from?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350408249626&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

According to the website delivery statement & google currency converter/calculator, that should cost £100 all in Chris. Is that right?

I remember when i treid a heater you need a good flow through them, about 4 on digi varitstream used to light it up, but 4 was too much water for me really.

Just had a thought, instead of a flow restrictor, why not channel it back to tank like a tank bypass with a tap inline. That was your tank would be getting heated to.

Also does the L5 still have the silly 18 mintue timeout thing? I never understood how to bypass that?

Remember you will have customs fees to pay
I have done the bypass ,works well. The 20min cut off, just stop water flow and start again, simple  ;D
