What's up Lee. Are you low on no claims bonus? Or are you under 25 maybe? I'm sure you can do better than £900 if neither of the above are true.

No Paul I am an old man! (48) clean licence and just one claim in 30 years
I had the van new two years ago and paid £300 fully comp and disclosed a diy system of 650 litres.
Had a bump with a small wall, just me no third party claim they paid out £1800 and the renewal went to £503.
No claims this year and the Swintons the broker said equity red star were no longer in the market to insure my van.
Highway were the cheapest at £700 odd until the underwriters found out my tank size and the refused to cover.
Alexander Swam were the next at £960 but got them down to £900.
All insurance is going up but I feel that I have been kicked squarely in the nads

I suppose the bolted tank will be cleassed as modified then.
Mine isn't & my gear isn't insured either BUT, I'm 38, full no claims, '07 fiat doblo & I've just got my renewal for £280 fully comp, this includes- protected N/Claims, legal protection & a reduced £100 excess. The "bare" premium is about £200.
This is with Directline, might be worth a try mate?

That's really good although I have committed to A Swan now.
When I get back to full bonus I will protect it, I went from full bonus down to just two years bonus from one claim. I complained as we can only earn bonus a year at a time.
Bloody insurance

Yes your right and it does not fall for renewal until 5/12.
I got the renewal a couple of weeks ago on that Monday it rained all day and I did not work.
Searched on here for all the insurance back posts and rang all the "Jeff at gt insurance", I also did all the go compares etc and £900 was the cheapest.
having the tank fitted through the chassis is a mod and gives them the opportunity to load the premium.
I will bear this in mind for next year, I may even go with a smaller tank strapped in.

My tank is secured by ratchett straps, they are connected to an anchorage through the chassis,
does this mean I do not have to declare it as a mod?

I would not like to say on that, you must tell them what your happy with.

I have declared it, But was wondering if I was paying a premium for nothing.
