Got a small round which I hope to have up to about 400 houses soon. All trad. But can see the logic of wfp. Safety, ability to work on own and quicker?
Whats the drawbacks. Is it quicker and would it be worth preparing / cleaning frames trad prior to switching.?
Also how do you go on with flaking paint on wooded frames and staining that presently I scape off.
Last questions.... second hand or new and would a trolley system be best.

Ps how long does it take to filter the water needed for a days work is it instant or are we looking at hours????

This topic would for sure be covered many a time do a seach ,
ill give u a little advice thou
if you were to clean the frames before pole it would make your life easier cos then u can just fly over them instead of worrying about dirt dripping from the frame oh dont forget to clean those dirty vents only problem is it is time consuming personally i did not do that cos its alot of work so i just cleaned all the frames like mad used lots of water.
Dont rush it what i did was clean the tops only with the pole and traded the downs this way its not so much of a shock to them ( they dont see there French doors wet and cancel cos one of my customers pays me £20 but only really cares about the French doors she said as long as i trad those doors she wont cancel lol) but i think you will keep more work that way and you will use less water so do trad the downs as you only want a trolly and your water will be limited.
slowly as you get more into it and learn more start to pole downs hopefully you wont lose any customers but be prepaid to lose some so door kncok now that way you are prepaid personally i lost only 1 but i could have lost 5 10, 15, it all depends on you and your customers.
good luck if you can.....just get a van mount more water and not back breaking i did the same got a trolley so i could keep costs down and test it out , it only cost me more in the end some people can use trolleys i cant ;p water fed pole works trust me so if you can get a van mount!

I got a trolley and 2 backpacks last year, i've now got back ache from filling up over and over again.
My new van came today and i,m fitting my diy system ready for next week.
If i did it again I'd go straight to van mount and save hassle, time and money.
I must admit though, even using a backpack I can earn 30 - 40% more than i did trad.
Yesterday i beat my record ever day by £30.00.
I have nightmares about ladders now.

the only draw back really is that the first cleans take along time, my work is 4 weekly and and ive just started my last week of first cleans today, its taken me 6 weeks to get this far.
It will be quicker in the long run, but its best not to rush just to be quicker or you will make mistakes.
Wouldnt bother preparing the frames when doing trad, all you will do is spend long when doing your last trad clean, and you will still need to clean all the frames tourghly on the first clean with wfp.
I find flaky windows come up ok, but need more rinsing to get the paint off the glass.
Regarding secondhand/new trolly/van mount, all depends on your budget, how quickly you want the system, and what sort of work you have. really a van mount is best if you have good access to the rear of houses as you dont have to keep loading and unloading the trolly and changing containers, but there will others on here who say get a trolley. If you can afford someone to supply and fit a system in your van, i would recommend it, i got mine from the cleaing warehouse, after contemplating doing a diy and im glad that i had it fitted as i know nothing about the systems, you also have the backup of calling the supplier for help if you have a problem.
Filtering water depends on your RO and how much water you need, if you go for a 300gpd, that takes 24 hours to make 300 US gallons, so about 1000L, but my 4040 RO produces 650L in about 4 hours
