Can anyone tell me what the bore diameter of a solution hose should be? Also, where can I order a custom length?
Many thanks
-
I don't know the bore but I can tell you what I do.
I take one of my s. hoses to a local hydraulic/pnuematic hose place. When you go in you will find all trades in there getting hoses fixed or made up. Show them what you have and what you want and they may be able to do it there and then and it will be dirt cheap in comparison to a CC retailer for the same thing.
If you are really stuck sometimes Pirtek franchise are a good option but will be dearer.

I did that already. I took mine to my local Hose Doctor franchise and they made me up a cracking solution hose but I have noticed a slight drop in pressure since using it and can only assume the bore is maybe even 1mm smaller than my knackered one.
-
So when you put another one on your saying it goes up again?
-
Don't have a spare to try it with however I am working on a big commercial job with a mate on Saturday and will try his - good idea.

It could be a quickconnect. Give it a squirt of silicon spray on both m/f parts

Next time you are over we can whack a gauge on it and measure for a difference.
-
Cracking idea. Thanks
-
putting a gauge on different hoses will not show anything they will both read the same.
You need to measure the flow rate do that by taking quick connect off the end of the two hoses and pump water from your machine into a large jug or bucket. Time how long it takes to fill to a certain level with each hose. This will show differences in flow rate!

Smaller bore = higher pressure.

No John that is wrong the pressure will be as much as is being pushed by the pump or that is set by the valve!

I have ordered from Dave the hose before and had to replace the knackered and heavily split vac hose within 4 months and the solution hose cost me a fortune in repairs as it was not heat rated and the ends kept splitting, so I replaced it.
Needless to say, I won't be ordering from Dave the Hose!

i think dave the hose needs to put more info on his site, he might get more business,
