Wow! He hit that at some speed!  Hope he/she didnt have a heart attack or something.

If he/she didnt have an heart attack causing the problem, they probably had one after when they saw the damage.

Not quite as good as the bloke that used to work for me that drove his Rolls Royce into Tesco's after an argument with them. He always was a little odd!

guys

I know you cant do much about it, but remember that some are finding it hard and as i have said before. when a prospect call around getting quotes not all carpet cleaners will pick up the phone and will let it go to answer machine where the prospect leave their number or if the number is not withheld they call them back after everyone else has quotes and the undercut everyone.

I think when a customer text you thats a sign. also by calling them and asking if they want to rebook and you get a not at the moment is another.

Try asking if they are cancelling because of the price.

The need for clean carpets does not go away. sure prospect have money problems as well but you will know the type of people you serve and if thats a factor.

My advise is follow up with a mailing with some info that includes both your certification and info about scams and bait and switch. we include a sealed letter in our stuff that has on it "only open if you have chosen someone else" which is just a FT letter about broken promises you must have seen it?

I feel every job counts and loosing booked once is a bigger loss than just loosing a quote.

Good Luck guys

Good advice Ian. I always tie people in on the bigger jobs that are a week or more in the future. I couldn't give a monkeys about the losing the odd cheap job, but a 200-300+ jobs I'd be well p1ssed off.

ian

YOUR WRONG ;D

this ladies total spend with me is £725, she's even in my mobile phone (first name terms and visa versa). mithering someone who has had no sleep due her kids being up all night will not do me any favours, she'll ring when everyones better. afterall, who else is gonna do as good a job as me and all at an affordable price ;D
