Title: Wfp but still need ladders !
Post by: wpclean on November 24, 2010, 08:47:06 pm
I have not been wfp all that long, but one thing I have noticed is that I still need ladders to clean side windows above garages/extensions etc !

My point is if you are thinking of switching over from trad do it asap but dont bin the ladders  ;D

I have. For over three years.
Can't get to it? Doesn't get done. Same as when I was on ladders.

I use mine to get access (flat roofs, gates adjusting security lights  ect ) I would not get rid of my ladders but I try to make sure I am safe and the more work I do with the poles the less chance I have of falling off ladders

Get longer poles nothing much is impossible  .....I have fishing poles to 60ft... But easier to say you can't reach a FROSTED side window if you want to earn a living.

i find i can reach over most flat roofs with my 22ft clx.i do use the ladders for the odd large flat roof but mainly i use them for unlocking side/back gates.also sometimes for conservatory roof cleaning.

always handy to have ladders IMO .

Well said, wfp isnt the answer to everything, I have one job with a balcony and there is no way of doing it without going up a ladder. Its easy to say just dont clean that one but the customer is paying to have all their windows cleaned!!. I have switched a lot of my domestics ove to WFP, but I would not consider going out without my ladders, old habits die hard ;D

I still need occasional ladder use as well.
I did find that upgrading to a longer SLX pole helped me reduce ladder usage still further as it's light enough to use at difficult angles.

Over-garage roofs, frame and cill checks, 1st clean frame cleans/checks....my ladders are used daily...just another tool to get the job done.

some of my custies wooden windows leak a bit but i dont get the ladders out!i just try and minimize the leaking!

as for sill and frame check i never bother and just hope ive got the sill cleaned!

im not going on any flat roofs in this weather though.any windows that cant be done with the pole dont get done this time round!!
