BBC website has south england min -3 tonight so just put heater in van for truckmount and chemicals. i leave halogen light on in garage, seems to do enough to stop chemicals freezing.
Just ordered snow sock things for tyres from other thread on here, had absolute nightmare last year with snow so thought id give them a try.
Nice going out in morning to warm van!

Yes I've just dusted off my oil filled electric rad (which is expensive leccy wise).
I always reckoned it was dodgey using a fan heater, but wondering would it really be a problem? ???
-
All my gear is in the kitchen ;D Cheaper than paying to heat the van at night, not that it`s much warmer in the house though.Supposed to be snowing at around 6am tomorrow where i am
-
Got to remember to unplug them too, not done it with the heater but have driven off trailing cord after charging truckmount battery up.
I use oil filled one too.
-
Mark, what a ball ache for you.
I'm sort of had a go at insulating it with that silver padded radiator reflector stuff from B&Q, not my best ever idea. :-\

It`s not so bad really, could get it all in the utility room,if it wasn`t full of laminate flooring, procured from a customer, who is going tiles, enough for my bathroom and utility room, solid Danish stuff too not cheapo ;D
I only bring the machine and tools in,rest stays in the van covered in loads of towels

This is like your I'm hard don't need a glide mentality. If your HE goes/or your back, you will really regret your machismo.

heater in van, if nothing else its nice to get in a warm van with no ice to scrape
-
Machine in the porch, but rest of the gear still in the van.
Which reminds me, I must clean my waste tank. It bloody stinks!
-
As per previous years, old quilts etc over main equipment, electric heater going too. Parafin heater in shed. All tax deductable.
When it gets a bit colder I throw a taupaulin over the top of the transit too just to offer another layer of protection.
-
Battery sprayer in kitchen , buffer , chillin in van
-
Just brought all my chems in from van, gonna be a bit of a ball ache everyday.
If chems were left in van with a quilt over them, would this be sufficent?
-
I wouldn't mate. Especially certain things like protector.
You could just have small food tubs with powders. I have like Pureclean and Powerburst and some homebrew. Saves space too. You also have to think about having an open end on your hoses if you leave those in.
-
them snow socks look a good idea - are they any good?
also with ice?
theres a few on ebay.

Will the cold affect the powdered chems as well?
If so looks like im going back out :(
-
Never been a prob for me. I think if there's no moisture it's pretty difficult to freeze something. ;)
