very impressive mike what fabric was it and what pre spray did you use
-
Nemesis and a freshwater rinse.
got to say this fabric is the most easy-peasy fabric their is to clean, I clean it in different colour, (cream, blue & red are the usual colours) about once every 6 weeks.... always cleans up really well.

Mike,
That looks like a Stair tool your using. Is it? Do you always use this tool on upholstery? Are you using a truckmount with it? What are drying times like with that tool?
Results are excellent, I want the same.

Who else uses a tool like this with an internal jet? I think they are better than all the fancy pants ones and will last you your whole career.
Great vid. Mike if someones not impressed with that there's something wrong with them.
-
Where can I get one of these tools?
-
Wynne you don't know your tools ;)
its an adapted curtain tool. which i've drilled holes in the back to catch overflow and sprayed solution.
it allows me to use 200-300psi on fabric without massive over-spray.
-
Excellent Mike,
Do you use it on Most upholstery?
John

You do realise mike that drilling holes in a 20 year old hand tool could invalidate the warranty ;D ::) ::)
Still jobs a goodun ;)
-
another top video mike. must start doing a few again.
-
John.....nope i use it on the flat areas ( cushions, back & sides) and use a CFR on the fiddly bits.
I also use this tool for stairs but you need a truckmount with lots of available vacuum as the holes in the back let alot of air in. it is really good on upholstery as it allow a lot of flow but has no leakage at the sides (which is why Wynne thought it was a internal jet)
the perforated vac slot stops any snagging and makes it really smooth to use
the bad thing about drilling holes in your tools is how bloomin hard steel is...you go through 1 drill bit every hole :-[

I know nuffin! :-[

I've got one very similar, made by PMF http://www.pmftools.com/prodUpolstery.php
Think I know the type of fabric you mean Mike, polyester textured stuff. Just have to watch the heat because they can heat-set easily!
P.S. nice job ;)

Mike
Use cobalt drill bits and drill very slow with a little bit of cutting compound
or wd40 to cool the bit.

Yep impressive video Mike, also noticed you said that you use softened water, what difference does that make to the clean and how are you making it?
I live in a very hard water area and my TM is always clogging up due to scale, I'm literally descaling every week and descaling the filter and jet on every job.
-
get a water softener fitted, bout £200 from hydramaster. softens the water as you fill the tank up. needs flushing with rock salt every couple of days or so.
-
Cheers will look into that 8).
-
oops
sorry gaz, i was a bit out.

Gary, if you're ever in the Basingstoke area give me a call, pop around and I'll show the RO set up I use which isn't that expensive to run.
-
Cheers Neil will take you up on that, will pop over some time when you're free. I have to do something before machine gets damaged. ( and you won't believe what happened to the machine today, it is now superb and I can't wait to use it tomorrow!).

Henry,
Ive looked at a few of your videos on youtube. What editing software do you use (or do you do them all in 1 Take) . Im looking at starting to put some vids on my website
Thanks
John

most are done in 'Windows live movie maker' which is the free software loaded onto most computer when they are sold. it take about 30 mins to get the jist on how to use it....real easy
-
Thanks Mike,
Now, Where can I get one of those upholstery tools in the UK.

Is that the same fabric, Mike, only in Green, that we have both had indicator dye problems with in the past? The pattern looks familiar.
Dave.

Great video Mike. I would put it on auto play on my site if it where mine. You might want to overlay your details as its that good other will use it.
-
dave it is similar.
Ian this is the unedited version I will do some work on it, (add text & special effects) then post it on my website.
