Hi Guys,
Thanks for the feedback here, we are currently in the middle of looking at the best ways of making the forum better and more efficient for our members. We will keep you updated with this and any progress we may have.
We have made several changes to the forum over the years to make the experience better for our members so upgrading is not as simple as it normally is.
Many thanks for your understanding.

What mods were made to the forum?
Removing the ability to PM is very easy in the new software. You simply restrict PM'ing until each member has a post count of 1000000,.. simples.
Restricting access to the memberlist should be equally easy,.. in the YaBB forum software its an option without any modification, so I assume the new SMF has the same feature.
The Google advertising could also be replaced in a matter of moments by editing the style sheet.
What else is there?
