Hello All,
I would like to know if there are any chemicals out there that you can just spray on glass where varnish has run from having the windows re-varnished? As I am fed up with the time it takes to scrape it all off the glass.
There must be something you could spray on, leave for a few minutes, which allows you to just wipe off before cleaning the glass.
Sensible information only please!
Regards.

easiest way to get rid of Varnish, take the R out and make it Vanish ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Paint, varnish etc is much easier to scrape off when its a few months older and has dried out and become brittle.

One of my all-time favourite gags.

I don't know of anything, other than a brand new four inch scraper blade; don't mess about with the small 2 inch ones. Plenty of soap too.
I don't think you'll find anything that matches your description (though I could be wrong), since if it'll remove varnish from the glass, it'll remove varnish from the frames; and that's not what we're after.
On a new clean, or a house that's just been painted, make sure you check the condition of the windows prior to starting so that you can adjust your price upwards if need be.

I agree with tosh, get a proper 4 or 5" scraper, mine's an Unger & it fits on a pole too. You can scrape a whole window in no time with a 4" blade. ;)
