Hey Frank im gonna make you one of them for christmas ;D ;D ;D
-
can you please stick a ionics label on it.
be more than i get off the wife, lol :P :P
-
i recon you could get a trolly and put a plastic dustbin on it and make up a big version to it, im going to have a go this week, ill update everyone ;D ;D ;D.
i think you can do it for about 30 quid
-
complete waste of time if you ask me!!how many windows will you be able to clean before needing a refill?rubbish idea IMO.

it can be converted to a bigger bucket or a dustbin on a sack truck which is more than 18L like most the backpacks you buy? !
-
I am doing something similar to your dustbin idea. I have a broken wcw backpack which i am using the pump and battery out of to make a trolley with a sac truck, and use 2x 25 litre drums on it. Its been an on going project for at least six month though!!
-
thats awesome,im gonna make one using a 25 litre bucket with a lid on and then onto wheels!
should be great or maybe onto a 25 litre water bottle with hose going through screw top!

-
im going to use a car wind screen washer water pump they dont use hardly any battery and if that idea dont work ill use a caravan shower that u can buy for 20 off quid there 12v aswell. i have an old electric scooter that was 36volts and had 2 18v batteries ill use one of them coz i have the charger for the batteries ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

might as well get a proper 50L PURE FREEDOM TROLLEY if your using it day in/day out on compact domestics.itll cause you hassle with bit breaking off i bet etc, etc.
false economy to try and do diy things like this on the cheap IMO.
IF YOUR SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS YOU LL BUY PROPER ROBUST EQUIPMENT THATLL LAST YEARS AND SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY IN THE LONG RUN!! ;) ;D ;D

I've got a 35ltr trolley, and that's a pain having to fill up so often - imagine how quickly that bucket would need re-filling.
Waste of time
-
i have a spare wcw bottom that houses pump battery etc,i shall attach them to my trolley with some sort of bracket then i shall attach the hose through a bottle top and then put a full 25 litre bottle on the trolley and put the hose, its so easy and will be so effective.
Will be just as good as a 25 litre pure freedom and best thing is i already have all the bits required!
when i get chance i shall knock it up and post some pics here!
Hope everybody else makes one up and posts there pics!
Well done ian wilson!

although i'm new to this surly buying a backpack would be easier and look more professional. surly if you want to be taken seriously £100-£200 is nothing?
as for a dustbin on sack a barrow. wheelie bin? but it would look ridicules would you employ someone who turned up with a bin? i know i wouldn't
-
i have 3 backpacks and a van system pal

I agree with mark, its all well and good doing a diy trolley that resembles something shop bought but a dustbin on a trolley with a pump from a car will look totally ridiculous, its almost as bad an idea as the cleaning custies windows twice a month for the same money as ther paying him already for doing the once a month!!!
-
Blimey didn't know u had a 50 litre pure freedom trolley. ;D

I've got myself a 35 litre solid blue box from Tesco today with a lockable lid for 11 quid.I'm gonna use that with a spare backpack and a lightweight trolley I got with a back pack.I know one thing I would rather push that round than a 50 litre pf trolley.

Im gonna make 35 of them buckets and haul them in the van, cos I reckon one of them buckets will maybe do one bay window.
Hells teeth....................... ::)
-
i reckon its a good idea ,its nice to see someone, thinking a little different 8)
looking at that bucket it looks like it can hold as much as a backpack
if it works for him ,who cares
well done
-
Hey, that's my bucket! ;D
Built it specifically for getting through some tight alleyways, etc. Used a trolley before, but it was a pain in the bum to get into tight places. :o ;D
The bucket holds more than the backpack did - I can squeeze nearly 25 litres into it. It is also easier to fill. I just pick it up and go anywhere I want with it. Would I want to work all day with it? No, but it does its job well.
For those who like it, and have a use for it, then give it a go. I wouldn't be without it now.
For those who don't like it, I don't care! :-* ;D

i think if you read my post again PAL you will see that i was not knocking backpacks or diy systems.
but a dustbin on a sack barrow with a car window washer pump????.
tell you what make it a metal bucket and you could light a fire underneath and have a hot wash system ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It`s a great idea Ian,but nothing new.The `daddy`of us all,ie,
Jeff Brimble `knocked`one up years ago and brought it up
To the `Fed`trade show at Blackpool. He named it `The Handbag`.
How`s it doing Jeff, are ya still using it ?

No probaby wouldnt be the best for all day, but who said he was using it all day long day in day out?
I see it as those awkward to get to windows, out of reach or the one window you forgot round back...just grab the bucket
And when needed for trad just wip lid off
Im really impressed, great idea. Im sure they do those buckets on wheels anyway ;)
-
Ideal bit of kit for those odd awkward windows that are difficult to get to, I don't think it’s been built to do a housing estate with and it’s nice to see people coming up with new ideas. Well done Ian. ;)

Nice one Ian W :)

No Lewis, I moved up to the eleccy powered golf trolley which I wouldnt be without. I made the eleccy bucket for going through houses without rear access and at that time there wasnt an alternative, I found that if you put a basic pump and 7amp battery on the lid that it became top heavy with only a little water, so I built a small box under the bucket to stop it twisting upside down :D but you could also fix the handle upright.
I reckon one of those remote controlled big boys toy cars could be fitted underneath and with a top speed of 60mph would be the fastest eleccy bucket anywhere, would need 4x4 for the snow though ;D ;D ;D
-
I knocked this one together ages ago, it does the same job as the big one, and the flow is controlled with a 12 volt motor speed controller.
-
y not use a wheel chair, easy to move around, fit your poles and water containers on it ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
THE PRO LOOK :o
-
Do you remember that kentkleen? someone was using a wheelchair as a trolley ;D pmsl the rest of his set up was good. working from a berlingo I think ;D
-
come on who are you? upload the photo for us it was quality ;D
-
lol i remember ;D
-
ever since i joined this forum all i see if ppl putting other ppl down and showing disrespect to others ideas, theres a few ppl on here who are really helpfull but a minority aint. if you dont like an idea just say so and dont keep going on and on about it. i think its a good idea to start out with til money comes in and it shows a persons willing to show his creativity side and not show off with a 6000 quid system that does the same job. custys dont care about wot equipment u have, they just want clean windows end of the day. ;D rant over ;D
-
The wheelchair user was Jeff Brimble. (Though I think it was probably tongue-in-cheek.) The guy is very good at trying new ideas out and using things that pass others by. I think it was Jeff who thought up the idea of using fishing poles for wfp. We NEED people like him, otherwise we would still be using a chamois to clean windows.
-
anyone got any pics of this so called wheel chair lol ;D
-
theres one on his website matey!!! quality!!!!!! ;)
