In light of the fact that the search function isnt working could someone (or multiple members :)) offer me suggestions on pipe-work in the van.
Im going to be taking someone out with me to do some work for a period of time soon and need to run another pole, hose, reel, pump and controller.
At the mo I have just a single length of pipe coming out of my van-mount tank going directly to a pump and then straight on out to the reel and pole. If I am to run 2 of everything do you just fit a 'T'-piece into the pipe-work out of the tank and feed that to the second pump? This pump is then controlled independently from the first pump?
Suggestions please.
TIA
Matt

Yes that's exactly how I've recently done mine, T piece from 1/2" hose from tank and separate pump and varistream, works fine.

Hi Matt, we used to run 2 reels from 1 pump no problem. Just put a "T" after pump and split it to another reel.... we used a varistream and just had to turn up the flow a couple of notches.
Also used taps on poles. It worked absoulutely fine and my brother is still using this technique a year later ;D
Saves having to shell out for another pump and varistream.
Hope that helps mate

Too late mate I practised some retail therapy at Gardiners yesterday.

Lol ok ;D
I see youve got the spelling right in the topic now ;)

Matt,I've tried to run two hoses off one pump with my system (ionics system and was advised it would work!)) and one pole had far better pressure than the other. A friend has a purefreedom set up with two pumps/controllers and it works perfectly, although he does run out of water by lunch everyday. Imo,you've done the right thing

hi matt i run 2 of 1 pump , all i ahve done is put a spliter after di vessel, really easy,

Do you get good pressure on each pole because mines rubbish? I have just a delivery unit with no filters on it at all and one pole works as normal and one dribbles out.

the pressure i have is great, i use gardiners flow control. but i did have to re cal the control to 45 from 30, but i think this is becasue my pumps is on the way out

I have a Gardiners flow controller(and pump) on mine now because the Ionics one burnt out. Maybe the crap flow controller(and pump) was the problem. When it warms up outside i'll nip out and have a play. Thanks

do u know how to change the cal on it
-
Yes thanks. I had to 'fine tune it' when i fitted it.
-
the prob i had was weather 1 pole or 2 was in use the pump would stop and start and the water pressure would drop
-
how are you running the pumps is it seperate battery source or one lesuire battery tried it last year but went down the backpack route
-
i ran the pump from the van battery now, use to just run from leisure battery, i have 1 pump, 1 controller and split after the di in to 2
-
hi matt
ive just done this in the last year.went to b&q got the y piece needed to split the hose, added the extra hose in, then onto the two pumps, two feeds come out to two reels,
the only thing i wish is that i had two batterys some times.as i now charging the leasure battery 110amp about every 3/4days,this is fitted to a split relay but some days i only do less than 5miles so after a days work no charge is going back into the battery.
any problems if i can help please call ;)

The reason some of you guys are getting poor pressure off 2 poles 1 pump is likely either:
1. you have differences in your hoses i.e 1 at 8mm & 1 at 6mm
or
2. your pump is too small. We use 100psi no smaller.
We run all our machines off 1 pump each, no problems.

Would the other option be to run 2 pumps off 1 controller??
As long as there the same pumps and there compatable with the flow controller surely this would be ok uh???? ???
