When it is freezing I just put on a couple of thin shirts and two sweaters under my sleeveless jacket, plus an extra pair of socks, thermal woolly hat and, until my hands get warm enough, gloves.

what you really need lads is proper gear.
bergaus goretex jacket/boots and a fleece.expensive yes!but i know why now!excellent!keeps you warm/dry with no sweating like a pig!!
in the past ive tried to get cheaper waterproof/warm winter gear and its all been rubbish.ended up sweating like mad,wet feet etc.none of this is a problem now. :D :D

Maybe I am just lucky, but in the clothing I described in my earlier post I can work comfortably without sweating, or feeling cold, in any winter temperatures we are likely to get in this country. It's cheap too!
