For further info email Paul at mosscleaning@btinternet.com
That name rings a bell ;D

Told you, so seems appropriate as I predicted this was where the bold boy was heading a while ago. Mr Moss is the type of character you either love or ............don't. Hate is far too strong a word !
I had a number of differences of opinion with P M as in my opinion he came across as " an instant expert " and was particularly ignorant and ill mannered in his behaviour towards LTT and indeed anyone who disagreed with him.
People who shout loudly will always gather a following and it's easy to impress when taking risks. I hope they have the proper verifications in place and have carried out the relevent Teacher Training which is needed to get insurance .
They could, of course, work unregulated and hope nothing goes wrong.

I'm constantly amazed by the number of people on here who seem to think a brand spanking new triple vac machine is vital to start a carpet cleaning business yet when training is mentioned suddenly they can't afford it.
30 odd years ago what do you thnk people cleaned carpet with? If you wanted reasonable reseults you HAD to know what you where doing but you could do it even with equipment people laf at today.
I think many experienced people don't bother training because they get shot down or told they aren't 'qualified' with some piece of paper. I know lots of poor real word cleaners who know all the burn tests and phs yet are totally clueless when it comes to practicalities.

Do you have a link to your predictions, If you do please show.
You could make more money than mystic Meg

robert, i guess from that character assassination you are one of the people who don't love him ::) ::)
I say good luck to him although I think the date is wrong, would have been better in January when every one is not so busy (but Get people to pay in advanced during Nov & Dec when most of us are flush with cash)
people who do this are always damned right from the start. We always say that( unlike the NCCA) training courses need to be more hands on and more 'street oriented' but when such a course is on offer people start talking about qualifications and risk.
-
sounds good to me. been moaning about odour removal courses for a long time, again though not the right time of year for me. maybe paul will do one in the new, might just attend.
-
Mike
If you think that comment is character assasination you've clearly forgotten the posts direct at anyone who disagreed with P M's views.
Particularly the REAL and potentially damaging to their business comments directed at
-
so whats this guys background does anyone know if he has relevent experience to be able to teach what he claims ?, i think experience would be more important than qualifications but if no one has heard of him then who is going to have confidence in him delivering on his promises
-
robert to be honest i must have forgotten. perhaps i never disagreed with him to feel the wrath of his damaging comments
don't understand your last sentence is their some words missing?
-
Who says you have to have a qualification or a piece of paper that says you are allowed to run a training course ::)
Aren't we always telling newbies to go out for a day with an experienced cleaner.
I have spent a day at Paul's house learning leather techniques which I still use today and I use them in conjunction with what I have learnt from LTT.
I would love to spend a day with Paul or Mick Halliday or Simon Gerrard etc;etc; - even after all these years I can always learn more - and certainly more than you will EVER learn on a training course from someone who supposedly has a certificate to teach.
This is real world learning and worth every penny.
-
Some people can't teach for toffee that's true, and there are people who have teaching qualifications who not only can't teach, they hardly know anything about what they are teaching.
Sound like this guy is known by some well respected members on here as someone who knows his onions.
-
Mike
I'm certainly not looking back to find out what was said, but it was not directed at me but at a partner in a training organisation known to most on here and bad enough for intervention by, if I remember correctly, the site owner.
No more from me on this .
-
I've done dozens of training courses over the years. The most interesting and the ones I took most away from were run by people who had been in at the thick end. Some others done by "qualified" trainers were sleep enducing.
I've done training for companies in the past and ran a couple of my own drying courses last year. These were to some guys on here but also to builders and utilities company staff. The feedback was excellent. I really enjoyed it but unfortunately don't have the time to do anymore at the moment. I don't have any formal teaching qualifications and according to my insurance company none were required as long as I had the relevant training and experience in the industry I was teaching about.
I watched Paul Moss doing his leather renovation at the first CCDO and must say I was impressed. Looking around at the audience (I wasn't there to learn anything) they all seemed to be riveted.
I say good luck to him. In my opinion there isn't enough training available in this industry and the more the merrier.

I remember PM being on here and found his postings quite informative, albeit during that period of time it really didn't take much for full blown fights and insults to be traded between posters left right and centre. Friday and Saturday nights around this time were particulary fun after several drinks had been consumed.
Courses like these can be as informative as any 'dedicated' courses because they are done by people who still do the job on a day by day basis, and will teach techniques that work.
Hands up those who have been startled by the first time they see Dave Liona and his rug cleaning techniques. Bet you won't see that on an Altec, Prochem or NCCA course.
-
Robert why so quick to attack ?? I have always found Paul to be a great help when I have needed it and it was his trainning that gave me the confidance to start doing leather restoration in the first place.
GOOD LUCK PAUL
Regards Tony

Tony
Hardly an attack....................I always say, if you find something or someone on the same wavelength as yourself and you believe in them you should stick with them and hopefully profit from the experience.
Cheers
-
I agree with much of what Robert has said.
Paul can be EXTREMELY helpful, and I mean EXTREMELY helpful, but equally he can swing in another direction as I found out to my detriment on a number of occasions. Rather silly and very childish.
I have no doubt that those who go on his course will learn an awful lot, but I wont be in the queue to join.
-
Thank you Joe
I know some see my comments as sour grapes or the rantings of an old fart, which is their prerogative but my instincts have always been to defend someones credentials or indeed their business credibilty if I believe it's being unfairly attacked paticularly on an open forum.
End of ................

An interesting link indeed.
These are the type of courses I prefer, ones where you are listening to and working with someone who has been there and done it, not ones where they are run by salesmen and people who are just out to sell you their products.
For £75 it's a fair price for a day with a compact group of people, only problem for me is the location, I may email him and see if he fancies doing one either before or after the Cleaning Show, anyone else fancy it?
-
yep i fancy it. as long as it includes bonneting and odour removal.
as for speed cleaning trashed carpets, thats my living so i'll be interested to see if i can improve on perfection ;) ;D
-
If he were more local I’ll be there in a shot I’m more of a hands on type of guy!
Not really in to classroom theory unlike some ;)

The website says hes doing one end of January as well - have some of you missed that.
-
website?
-
You mean pauls website ???
-
think joe means the ebay listing, pauls added that bit to cater for us, after xmas types. cheers paul, will be in touch in the new year.
-
Well I have to admit..........
This has been a smart bit of marketing and never cost a penny !
-
Robert
You seem to have a lot of experience, why don't you create some sort of training course on the stuff you talk about in your post for the guys north of the border?
-
No more from ME on this End of........... now I wonder who said that lol
Tony

Good on him for having a go though. For what he charges if you went along and didn't agree with anything you haven't lost much. I've not always seen eye to eye with him but have to admire what he is doing and has done in the past, he is on my Facebook but never spoken to him, think I will give him a shout.
If you spent a day with any carpet cleaner you'd pick up some tips that could make you a few extra quid or even save your business one day!
-
Just think, you could make your money back in an hour, and every hour after that.... :P
