Title: Back Pack Vacuum's
Post by: Steve Lowe on November 20, 2010, 11:45:08 am
I was chatting with a mate of mine this morning and noticed he had a back pack vacuum in his van.
Do many of you use them ? and do you find them easier to use ?

Hi Steve

Yes. They are good. However if you have staff. They tend to dislike them at first. Takes a little getting use to. Kind of like have a jet pack strapped to your back.. LOL

They are good and speed up cleaning of offices and are great for stair cleaning.

Hi

They're excellent for working off ladders, cleaning dust, cobwebs etc. off walls, ledges and rough uneven surfaces. You can maintain safe working practice with two feet and one hand on the ladder and still use it easily. We regularly clean a chapel, working at height with lots of old oak timbers, ragstone inside walls and high vaulted ceiling.

In smaller enclosed spaces they can bump around a bit until you're accustomed to having one on your back. I would recommend them. Check out the vac motor power too when you decide to buy.

Started using backpacks mid week and find them better for our common way cleaning but no better for office cleaning.

are backpack vacuums cordless? i'd have thought they'd take just as long if not longer to vacuum as you can't put your back into it as much

They do make cordless backpacks but they hold charge for very long. Ours have cords but on hallway cleaning jobs (Stairs) they are not just quicker but safer as you have both hands free.
