Hi guys,
Juts a quick one, been reading a bit on here about late payers etc. Does anyone know of what we can do if someone refuses to pay etc?
Also, if we have a T&C's on our website and make these abundantly clear to each cust, without them signing something, do we really have any come back as to sur charges etc??
Any advise on these issues much appreciated.

just let them get to 2 cleans, if they dont pay dont clean again, u could take them to court but unless it was a big amount, i think it would be a waste of time, as all they got to say is i dont have a window cleaner

It's really down to 'is it worth it' it can be a lot of hassle of a few quid, i never let new customers go to 2 cleans i get payment on the day or call back within 3 days unless paying online - only really trusted customers get a second
clean before payment, 2 reasons - i only want to get caught for at most 1 clean and second when a custy starts to dole out for 2 or more payments at once they can think it's something they could do without - ie.. finding 15 quid once every 4 weeks seems reasonable when you have to ask for 30 for 45 it's suddenly a large wedge 'just for windows'
over time you will get vibes and pick up signals on people that will try to wriggle out of payment, it just goes with the biz

I find the best legal means is to follow these steps.
1. Drop in a polite reminder when you are in the neighbourhood.
2. Wait a fortnight (might be on hols)
3. Go round about 6.30pm on a weekday and talk to them - no reply? Another polite but stronger reminder.
4. Wait a week.
5. Go round at 9.00 am on a Sunday - no reply? Final reminder with legal threat (but wonder why they aren't there.) If it's small never go back to clean* if it's not so small then make sure they still live there before going legal.
*But don't forget it - you can still knock on the offchance when cleaning in the road or if you see signs of life.
If you find you are going beyond step 2 often with a particular custy just drop 'em.
