Title: Rotovac 360i
Post by: Keith Dobson on November 17, 2010, 08:32:03 am
I'm very tempted to buy a a Rotovac 360i (powerwand) not the twin headed old version.
I would like to know owners Pro's and Cons on the machine, going to be used on Domestic and Commercial work.
If you have one please leave your comments
I have a very good portable 450psi twin 3 stage vacs 200cfm.

Many thanks Keith

Keith

I hardly ever have to get my scrubber off my van as my method does not need to extra. how often would you use it? they are heavy and with hoses attached it can be a pain to work with in homes. I have just a standard speed scrubber with soft brush works great when needed.

Plus one other thing i use a porty so if i needed to scrub i would use micrsplitter to keep moisture levels down. if that makes scene to you -)

on commericals again microsplitters or bonnet system

Thanks for your response.

Are you saying you have a Rotovac 360i and this it what you are using?

At the moment I prespray with a microsplitter, aggitate with an Envirodri then rinse out using a two jet wand with clean hot water. I use one or two wet strokes then two or three drying strokes. It's hard work, I want cleaner drier carpets without the back breaking work.
The vidoes I have watched with the 360i make the work look so easy.

Hi Keith, Ive had mine for about 3 weeks now and yes it does a great job and above all it is easier and quicker, i now prespray and then I have the carpet brush head which agitates and sprays and sucks all at once.

Usually take wand or long reach stair wand to carpet after as well to get round corners and door bars etc

I use mine with a T-M on about 300psi so your psi would be fine and i guess as long as you make a 2nd vac pass you should be fine

If you have the money to spend then go for it, but it is something you can do without and about 2k is alot of dollar to spend

Ive no regrets though

Down side to it is the handle is a little flimsy and wide (looks like a harley!) and it doesnt have a foot plate to lower the handle but is still easy to do, also on some carpets (mainly wool) it does leave a swirly footprint which needs raking or wanding out.

Happy decisions

Stu Thanks for your response,

This is exactly what I wanted a honest opinion on the good and bad.
I did a whole house yesterday and was constantly thinking about the 360i
due to relentless back and forth wanding strokes. You are so knackered afterwards, my back this morning just aches.

I've got to be honest I'm also thinking about a used truckmount on the Alltec website Steamway Side Kick at 1.5k or at a push the 9100 lx but they want 4.5k and I can't afford both.

Would you go for the TM or the 360i?

Decisions decisions!!!!

let me know your thoughts?

Go for the TM first.
Its a no brainer.

Aren't they a little bulky and awkward in most
domestic settings.

There just a bit bigger diameter then say an Oreck Orbiter, so not too bulky at all.
Now the RX20 - thats a different beast altogether.

ive seen the rotovac and can't understand what there meant to do, there inbetween domestic and commercial. too cumbersome for domestics and not big enough for commercial. really don't see where they fit in? just my opinion though.

go for the truckmount, and i suppose, a glide for your wand if you must. tut!

truckmount will knock a third off your work time.

Your right derek i had one and sold it s it was too bulky for domestics supose it does save energy as it does the work for you rather than wand it..

Ditto what everybody else says keith, T-M 1st this will reduce your times and make the backache less, then the extra work that you will pick up from the T-M you can start to think about a rotovac which will help on the strain as well :)

Ps The rotovac is quite nimble around domestic work, i can even manouvre it around beds now :) but it is ideally suited for a nice large room with no furniture in
