Well after several years of working in the high street I have finally upset another windie.
I got the heads up a few weeks ago that this lad was not happy that I had taken one of his shops. It has made me a bit wary and uncomfortable knowing that this lad is not happy.
Anyway, on friday morning I went round all the shops as usual. This particular morning I washed the shop in question particularly thoroughly, tops signs frames etc. I am doing this for all the shops at the moment so they are ready for crimbo.
I went back to collect and the manager told me that she had to go out and clean up the entrance with a kettle of boiling water to remove what she thought was vomit from the night before. I knew that the shop was completely clean when I left it at 7.30. The shop was soiled between then and 9 when she arrived.
The unhappy windie had been parked there and was working on another shop between 8 and 9.
I am not going to make an accusation yet, but I have contacted the local beat bobby and he is going to look at the cctv so we can find out what happened.
Anybody had similar?
any tips?

to be honest if another window cleaner took any of my jobs i would see it a as green light to go after his work ;D
but if the shop came to you because the other window cleaner is crap i would let him know that was the case and you didn't just under cut him.

Don't you just love being a window cleaner??
I like it when people say that one of the reasons they became a window cleaner in the first place was for a hassle free life; go figure ;)

See what the Beat Bobby comes back with - don't hold your breath.
Next time you do the job do it so it's completed just as the manager arrives. Tell her the suspected prob. and reassure her that if anything happens like muck on glass then for her to call you and that you will sort it immediately.
Be prepared to go back and clear up any mess matey boy leaves and if you know it is him report him again. Other than that ignore him completely and watch your back. But find out where he lives. Report every incident and make a nuisance of yourself to the police.
Then ...
If that doesn't do it then get a few of us to go round his gaff on our motorbikes and sit outside looking at him and his motor and revving our engines a bit in an intimidating sort of way! ;D
If that doesn't work then send Toshimoto round to do some Feng Shui on his living room! ;D ;D
Maybe send Squealy Queen round to hit him with his handbag! Or one of the JW's can attempt to start a Bible Study with him pointing out the error of his ways ... ;D ;D ;D
(Those last 3 paras are a joke BTW)

I am ok for hairy bikers thanks, I am out with a couple of dogs tonight.
I just don't like feeling uncomfortable wondering if I might get a punch in the back of the head one morning.

Are you saying this other window cleaner deliberately stuck his fingers down his throat and puked up purposely on the door of the shop you are now cleaning?
-
I wouldn't worry about it mate, its a dog eat dog world this windowcleaning lark. There are many w/c s threatened me over the years but their all mouth. Look after yourself only.
By the way how did he/she lose the shop in the first place? If you have taken it off him by undercutting I hope you get the hiding you deserve ;D

Close the place was hanging, they saw me using wfp to wash some signs opposite.
I don't need to undercut to get work, there is plenty out there to be picked up.

Fair enough.. ;)

tbh thats not very good revenge is it. prob some kid who cudnt handle there drink from the night before or something. ;D the best revenge is not stealing there work but hurting there pocket with transport etc. but any sort of revenge is childish, i had a problem at the local school with a local windy.

Maybe he has the ache with the shopkeeper after all it was their door he messed up if it was him.

ive had the same thing happen when ive done a shop now if theres no one in the shop thats seen me do the work i will take a quick photo on my phone as this stores all the details , if you then get called back for any reason youve got your proof that it was cleaned .
