Title: Build a gutter vac system
Post by: e newlands on November 12, 2010, 08:12:46 pm
There have been numerous posts over the last few days indicating a growing need for gutter vacs but not everyone wants to pay the 1500 or so the main suppliers want
there are links scattered everywhere at the moment with good info on suppliers
I for one am looking at doing a diy job
the components being
the vac
flexible hose
couplin from vac to flexible hose
tubing pole sections and clamps
angled head

anyone with any links to good suppliers of the components needed I thought it would be a idea to stick them all in 1 place

i'm in process of buying all my kit at present

3000w vac (eastern trading)
5kva genny
10 m 51mm suction hose www.parquip.co.uk  but oregon airflex L hose.
135 degree flexible hose elbow
51mm-38mm reducer for making pipe step down so you can use 1.5 inch nozzle
1m 51mm alloy pipe
1 m 38mm alloy pipe
4x 5ft pipe sections for making gutter poles
t clamps for clamping poles together
loc line modualr hose with rectangular nozzle and cone nozzle

these 2 sections of pipe are used to make you end vac nozzle one being 2 inch and then reduce down to 1.5 inch.  you could have it the way eastern trading have it and the 2 are joined together to reduce down to 1.5 inch nozzle or you could cut a small piece of 51mm pipe and make a 100m collar for using as first piece to go into the reducer silicone hose.

you could crush sections of the 1.5 inch down to wide end using a vice.

everyone understand?

on ebay ye can buy yer gutte rpoles from few guys now.

Will a 2.8kva generator run a 3kW vacuum?  That would surprise me.
