Title: Car/van insurance doubled next time round.
Post by: Klean07 on November 11, 2010, 09:39:15 pm
I know two people that have had their insurance premiums more than double on their renewal. They both said that they had shopped around to get better quotes but couldn't find any cheaper. Theyve both got between 7 and 9 years no claims bonus and both never been involved in an accident. Ive just watched "Watchdog" on bbc 1 and apparantly there are 1,000s of motorists in the same situation.
According to the insurers the reason everyones insurance has more than doubled is because of last winter!!! What a rip off!!! :(

Great, mines due at the end of the month  :(
But that bloke from window cleaners federation who was on here said he/they had a meeting with insurers and they were paying out £3 for every £1 they got in, So it inevitable really.

yep insurance has gone up but to minimize the cost you have to change your policy every year to save money as most of us know they bump up price second time round relying on you just renewing instead of looking for a better offer.

We need to take a leaf out of the insurance industry`s book the work together on pricing. That do have the law on there side to force us to use them.Which only happens in the U K.Other countries it a chose to insure.ones own risk. But if they go up to much you can opt out of buying them.

my mate is in the motor trade so i am a named driver on his policy i'm insured to drive any vehicle up to £50,000 other than performance cars trade and private use. and it cost £750 but there are 3 of us on it so we just split it 3 ways
