Now I have been looking at my new set-up and how I can improve things..
Now winter seems to present us with many problems be it having to run electricity to the van and a heater or having to remove everything...and then there is the point of bits in the van freezing...
So having one of my ...what can be done....how's about a tank that fits in your van has all the fittings for your gear and will not freeze?
A double walled tank and insulated with say 15 to 20mm polystyreen sheets...
What do you think?

I have a 650l flat...but my thoughts are for my new up and coming setup...
I am nearing the completion of my 2000l hold tank, 1000w titanium/digi stat set-up all winterised and next year working towards new van/reels/tank/poss add on hot or L5 type set-up(but I am a bit gas phobic).

u could insutlate everything, just take u a day to make in the van

Stream do an insulated truck mounted tank all the working parts inc DI vessels are inside an insulated cabinet, I have always filled the cavity inside the cabinet with insulated tank blanket to prevent freezing.
Poles and hose reels go in the garage over night then I just load the van up before going to work in the morning, the half inch hose feeding to the external ports can be disconnected and put inside the van wrapped in insulation, using pipe insulation on your half inch hose also helps.
As for stopping your pole hose and micro bore freezing whilst your working on the coldest days....well good luck..I guess hot water can only totally solve this .. :)

My tank is insulated - it is a "normal" flat baffled 400L tank bolted and screwed to the van floor with a piece of rubber underneath. The sides are insulated with 50mm expanded polystyrene bought from Wickes. The top has loft insulation on it in those foil type bags.
I did it myself in a day.
This is all covered by ply on the top and sides with a hole at the back for the filler and small pipe holes too.
The pump is screwed to the ply - as is the reel and the battery and trad tools sit on a small shelf at the very back.
If it is going to be cold overnight then I put an oil filled rad in the back.
