As this is first year I find I have 4 & 8 wkly cleans due the week over Xmas, what's the best way to handle this?
Do you just skip them (4 weeklies) and lose out on the money for the month or do them week before, ...i e. A week earlier?(8 wkly)
Complicated, but I am very regimented with my clean dates.
Thanking in advance

When you start back on 27th, just begin where you finished off.

Like you I operate a regimented 4/8 weekly round, I am planning to bring those due w/c 20/12 and 27/12 forward by a week. So the 4 weekly will be 3 weekly for December and the 8 weekers 7 I will put a note on work ticket for next clean to say coz of Xmas hols your next clean will be ....... My thinking is those 4 weekly that are due w/c 27/12 would prefer clean windows for Xmas and the 8 weekers doesn't make much difference. Also means I can have the week between Xmas and New Year as hols, 27 & 28 are bank hols anyway. Then in New year revert to original schedule. Well that's the plan weather and time permitting (I can have help for a couple of days if needed)

i find a rough schedule is better for the winter months as i always end up falling behind with it!!if its not regimented then i dont get frustrated really like i used to when i was trying to keep all my work in perfect synch(like a do in some summer months!).its easier on my stress levels and gives me piece of mind that certain work will get done in the end!!i suppose it depends on workload really but this attitude is best overall for my business.

I operate calendar monthly, so its a week off for me as its one of those five week months. Happy days ;D
-
the only days i wont be working is 25th & 26th december & 1st january, which thankfull all land on a saturday or sunday anyway ;D so i wont have to many problems ;D
-
I find its usually close to chaos by then anyway. Short days and bad weather. Just keep plugging away at the overdues best you can.
-
And don`t forget to say to customers "I`ll see you next year".
Oh the look on their faces, it`s hilarious ::).
-
just do your good custies before xmas and give a date to suit them the 8 wkers can wait a bit do them new yr to start you off windying
-
Have a break; you'll feel better for it and your customers will probably expect it anyway.
DON'T work over Christmas - nobody needs the money that badly surely :'(
-
Brought forward all my 27th - 31st work as pre christmas cleans...everything between 01st - 21st Jan rescheduled into spare days....off work 23.12.10 - 23.01.11.
I also have a schedule/dated service..so when you need time off it does involve a lot of jigging around, planning & contacting the custy's.
