Title: "Fellow" window Cleaner taking down flyer !
Post by: slendersunfish on November 06, 2010, 11:17:46 pm
I put my well designed colour Flyer in the local shop.

Someone keeps taking it down and in its place is a scrap of paper advertising window cleaner -Cheap prices £5 per hour

I have a round in the village and am well known and i hope, respected ,so i'm not too worried about loosing customers But my inner competitive side has taken over and now i have to WIN.

I could think out of the box and employe them at £5 per hour - But if its who i think it is he is unemployable

I now have had delivered to every house in the village a flyer, and a weekly visit to put a flyer back up in the shop

Its motivated me to get more custys big time
My question is then

...... what would you do to "win"

i am going to take a guess here,  he is a crap wc who has been going for years, yet some how manges to keep custys,  yet u cant work out how he can make a living doing what he is doing

answer : he is cheap and is working on the side and it is annoying as well, there are few like that where i am

There was a chap on here that took down someone elses flyer put his own up, the blokes who's flyer got thaken down got his own back though, he called the forum member on here as a "potential customer" and said his house needed cleaning along with conservatory roof, agreed the price over the phone he carried out the work on the day he said. Then he got a phone call from the "potential customer" saying did you enjoy doing tgat house for free, that will teach you for taking down my flyer. Anyway the forum member saw the funny side and lesson learnt.

You could try something similar? But I'm not endorsing that methods.

If I saw a flyer like the one you describe I would just smile ( a lot!) and carry on working the way I do now.

My only advertising is and has always been to be seen doing the best job I can, and allowing my customers and those who see and watch the way I work judge for themselves.
