Well i was the first one to shoot the guy down about this...but i gave it a go.

DIY harris decorators pole with the clamp removed
-
hows it work do you have to hold the hose?
-
think you hold the hose at the bottom of the pole and it stops it colapsing.
-
ermm
-
i have tried it better then i thought, but its a bit of a pain to extend it really because you have to hold the hose, unless there is an easier way to do it?

stand with the horizontal to the ground and open it up, then shift the pole until you have a grip of the hose at the bottom of pole and lift,
if you can't master that then place brush on fence or similar and walk backwards until the pole is at the desired length and lift. you do not have to remove the clamps so if you are in a tight spot just use the clamps although I never do anymore.

perhaps im missing something here but why remove the clamps
and is the hose running thru the pole or outside
bob

you don't need to remove the clamps, and it is done with the hose through the pole.
