is there any point in paying extra for full colour flashy designed flyers? or does simply plain black and white do just as good a job?

Mark... When I first started out I had full colour leaflets. Not a sausage.
The black & white ones I had after that did me well.
A customer back in Stafford told me once that he had two leaflets within a couple of days. One full colour, fancy with pictures and my black & white one.
He never rang the other window cleaner as he said that his logic was that the leaflet would reflect his price.
How true that is with the rest of the population I don't know, but I did well out of black & white leaflets when I was in stafford.

people want clean windows and want to pay a reasonable price, when u look at flyers and vans etc, these have to be payed for, they get payed for by the custy, so the job will be expensive, this is how custy think
r u hoping to drum up loads of business

I've got glossy A5 flyers and they look very professional. It looks like I have pride in my business and therefore likely to do a professional and thorough job.
A couple of years I got a leaflet through my door and it was simply black ink printed onto cheap printer paper. Wording was something like 'AB Window cleaning. Call 0779 11111111 for quote' From what I remember there were spelling mistakes and the paper was cut unevenly.
Personally, If I got both leaflets through the door I would more likely call the professional first for a quote.

i feel some goods pic will help aswell, so colour for me.
Try Gaz at Printmarket uk.
£68 for 2500 a5 double sided full colour, designed by them and inc vat n del. Bargain in my eyes.
Think it £80 for 5000 flyers with as above spec ...
At those prices you cant go wrong - pick up one gutter clean or any extra work ie con roofs then the flyer will be paid for ...
I highly recommend it...

You have to ask yourself what type of customer you want, personally I try to aim for the ones who value service rather than price !

All depends on your target audience IMO. Type of area/customer/competition etc. will all come into it, as well as your ability to honour what you advertise. In the past I have had various types of leaflets for differing recipients. Target specific marketing I like to call it.
I've always made my own leaflets, not for cost reasons but for the ability to immediately change/amend anything I like to meet any given criteria. M.S Publisher is a superb bit of software, especially when you really explore it more. ;)
