George,

Without making my brain work toooooo hard...I have WCP now, and have one major concern which has been highlighted with all the furore over the last few days...

If my pc dies, or I want to upgrade, it is not a simple process to get MY data from my machine, and load it onto a new one.

Can this be done with your system, by the owner/operator? Or do I have to wait until the supplier wants to deem me important enough?

Thanks

Hi

It's extremely simple to transfer George to another PC - it only takes a couple of minutes.

There's a "How to" at the bottom of our FAQ page if you're interested...

yeh great program george systems!fantastic round management software for a very reasonable price!

ive been using it for 12 months now and its transformed my business!nice and simple and straightforward program.i honestly cant fault it!it does everything i need it to for a small window cleaning business.

the only thing is when i updated last time i lost the pound signs in front of my prices/debts.its not a major problem but how did that happen?

best wishes

Hi

I wasted hours trying to get it to work when Windows 7 first came out. I had hoped that Microsoft might have fixed it but they don't appear to be in any hurry to do it...

I guess it will have to stay the way it is...

Hi

The Nt column is the Notes indicator.

If you have WorkList notes it shows "W", if you have "Other" notes is shows "O" and if you have Both it shows "B".

ant i initially thought i didnt need software for my round as id always avoided computers until a year and a half ago!!

my own thoughts are that george is the best software for me.its very simple to use.it does everything i need it to do for a small business and its a very reasonable price.

it was a pain inputting 340 custies/frequency/price etc but well worth it.you can "see" your round better at the click of a button.great for invoices/reports/expenses etc.

Does the removal of the currency sign also apply to invoices? or am I being thick??
I like the job ref number, is there a way to display this on printed worklists/jobsheets?

Hi Neil

Yes - there are no currency symbols in George now. I will give it a few months and then try again - to see if Microsoft have fixed it.

I've had requests to print the Job Reference and the new second phone number on the WorkList. The only problem is that it will need another line - which will make the list a fair bit longer.

Would it be possible to insert "£" in the invoice/statement of account templates in the "cost" "total" "value" "balance" "balance at" headings?
I understand what you say about length of list, but imo for the id no. to be useful it has to appear on the worklist and then could be used for worktickets and for customers to quote when paying.

Hi Neil

I can't show the currency symbol because I don't know what it is. When you ask Windows for it you sometimes get a Pound and sometimes a Dollar.  That's why I cant show "UKP" either.

Yes - I intend to show the customer reference on the WorkList (it's already on the Invoice) but I haven't decided on the new layout yet.

How do you manage to stay trading when you only charge £50 and give unlimited upgrades and support.

Another top program was advised to cease trading by there accountants, as they couldnt make money when they are charging over double what you do,

Just curious ?

I've been using George for 5+ years now. Excellent piece of software and has made managing my business so much easier.

George has grown and developed a great deal since I first got it, I've lost count of the number of upgrades there have been.

Also first class back up service from Paul. Always there to help if needed.

£50 excellent value, if honest way to cheap.

Thanks Paul.

I think the best thing about George is that it is idiot proof, I have tried other programs, but the buttons take too much thinking about,

when I pitch to people I say we clean windows well, and If its glass we clean it.

Same as George, when you press a button it does exactly what it says,

from reading the threads on WCP, i got the feeling they started as a hobby thought we could be millionaires,  started the business, got the cars etc all payed for by the business and then realised that it wasnt working,

becasue once the program is made all the cost are coping the program which is download any way  so should be minimal   and prehaps this is what the owners of geroge are doing, keeping it as a hobby rather that there sole income
