Hi,
I currently have a r/o system at my parents, in there garage.
My place is too small, back to back house no garden :(
Was wondering can a merlin be connected to kitchen sink tap, i need to fill 10 barrels for a days work.
Just wondering if i could quickly hook up merlin to kitchen sink, fill up disconect.
If yes how long would this take filling time and also i'm on water metre how much would it cost me on water bill.
Asking this cause my father retires next august and i think my parents will have to downsize property sooner or later :-/
I'm looking to move to something bigger but not as rich as other w/c's :D
Oh and i don't think my parents would go for a straight swap on our properties ;)
thanks lee

Merlins have a lot of waste compared to other ROs. It can easily be 1 pure to 4 or 5 waste. Not good ROs for a meter. I'm switching ROs soon because of it. You can fit a restricter to the waste but I'm finding that the membranes can get badly affected by this.

thanks paul and gav.

Lee you could fit any ro ( other than a 4040 ) under the sink - the only problem with most RO's is the time it takes to produce the water.
The great thing with the Merlin it would not take to long to produce water depending on water pressure - if you get a booster pump and get the pressure to 70/80 psi you will 10 barrels in under 2 hours
10 barrels = 250 ltrs ?
connection would be straight forward use a w/machine tap off the mains to the pump or ro use a w/machine hose from the tap and use a joiner to the plastic ro pipe fit hose pipe to the waste and pure pipes with the waste going into the sink or better still a drain and the other outside to where your barrels are.
yes the merlin may not be as frugile as other ro's but you cant knock it for speed and ease of use.

do know how quick they are but you can get a 20" version of the 4040, my 40" 4040 takes 5 hours to fill 650l at 50psi

that is quick, my ro is 27 litres an hour ;D
Yours is another 100+ :o
thanks lee
