Title: When your pole clamps wear .
Post by: geefree on November 01, 2010, 09:32:11 pm
Do i replace  the pole section,.. the clamp lever ...... because the screw part is stretched....

or the clamp ring ..?....(god knows why you cant buy the whole clamp in one ) seperate them and make more money i suppose

Anyway , its the first section starting to spin when i have tightened it.

Thank you  ;)

you need to change the clamp first then change the pole section if the new clamp doesnt work

may as well replace the whole thing, to clamp and lever rub against each other so both will wear.

I cut and fitted plastic shims to the inside of the clamp, it reduced the diameter and took up the slack of the worn pole. They work well but need to be well glued.

It seems to me I have spent years replaceing sections and clamps. By the time the clamp has gone the pole section has worn as well giving tight/ loose spots which can be very annoying.
Now I just buy another pole and be done with it.
